Position Overview
The Mechanical Engineer will support engineering efforts related to the design, development, integration, testing, and sustainment of mechanical systems supporting U.S. Navy and Department of Defense (DoD) programs. This role performs technical tasks under the guidance of senior engineers and program leadership, contributing to system analysis, design, testing, and technical documentation for military platforms and support systems.
Key Responsibilities
Support the investigation, analysis, design, development, integration, testing, and evaluation of mechanical systems, components, and subsystems.
Assist with system integration, configuration management (CM), quality assurance (QA) testing, and acquisition support activities.
Contribute to engineering documentation, including technical analyses, reports, design reviews, and engineering change proposals.
Support the development, testing, and sustainment of mechanical equipment and associated military support systems.
Collaborate with senior engineers, program managers, and technical stakeholders to execute assigned engineering tasks and support project objectives.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
Foundational knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, including mechanical design, materials, manufacturing processes, and system integration.
Ability to work in a structured, mission-focused engineering environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting DoD, U.S. Navy, or other defense-related engineering programs.
Familiarity with systems engineering, mechanical system integration, testing, and evaluation.
Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD, or similar design tools.
Knowledge of military systems, shipboard mechanical systems, or defense-related equipment is preferred.
Strong analytical, technical writing, and problem-solving skills.
