Job Description

Koniag Advisory and Business Solutions, LLC a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Mid-Level Accessibility (508) Developer to support KABS and our government customer in Washington, DC. The position is hybrid, requires 1 day onsite. This position requires the candidate to be able to obtain a Public Trust.

Koniag Advisory and Business Solutions, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Mid-Level Accessibility (508) Developer to support the Digital Workplace workforce by implementing accessible user interfaces, remediating accessibility defects, and supporting Section 508 compliance across digital products. The ideal candidate will have practical front-end development skills, accessibility testing experience, and the ability to work with senior engineers to deliver inclusive and compliant digital services. Work will be performed at the client's facility or customer approved remote locations during Eastern Time core business hours.

The Mid-Level Accessibility (508) Developer will support accessibility implementation, remediation, and testing activities across applications, portals, forms, dashboards, and platform interfaces.

Principal responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
  • Develop and remediate user interfaces to meet Section 508, WCAG 2.x, and accessible coding expectations.
  • Fix accessibility issues related to semantic structure, labels, keyboard operation, focus order, forms, tables, color contrast, and ARIA usage.
  • Conduct accessibility checks using automated tools, manual keyboard testing, and assistive technology under senior guidance.
  • Support accessibility defect triage, documentation, remediation verification, and release readiness reviews.
  • Collaborate with developers, QA analysts, designers, and product owners to build accessibility into normal delivery practices.
  • Support accessible document, dashboard, and platform workflow remediation where needed.
  • Maintain clear notes, test results, and remediation evidence for compliance tracking.


Education and Experience:

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Web Development, Information Systems, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in front-end development, web application support, accessibility testing, or digital quality assurance.
  • Hands-on experience implementing or testing web accessibility requirements.

Desired:
  • DHS Trusted Tester, IAAP CPACC, or comparable accessibility training or certification.
  • Experience supporting federal Section 508 remediation activities.
  • Experience with enterprise platforms such as ServiceNow, SharePoint, Atlassian, or Microsoft 365.


Required Skills and Competencies:
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, ARIA, forms, semantic markup, keyboard accessibility, and responsive UI behavior.
  • Experience using tools such as axe, ANDI, Lighthouse, WAVE, JAWS, NVDA, or VoiceOver to identify accessibility issues.
  • Ability to interpret accessibility defects and implement practical remediation in coordination with technical leads.
  • Understanding of WCAG success criteria and how they apply to user interfaces, documents, forms, and dashboards.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to document test findings and remediation results clearly.
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.


Desired Skills and Competencies:
  • Experience with component libraries, design systems, or low-code/no-code platform accessibility limitations.
  • Familiarity with automated accessibility checks in build pipelines or test suites.
  • Experience working in Agile teams and tracking accessibility defects in Jira or comparable tools.
  • Understanding of accessible content practices for PDFs, Office documents, and web content.
