Department Summary:
MITRE is seeking a Program Leader for MITRE Industry Engagement, within the Technology Transition and Partnership Office. MITRE's industry engagement approach is to serve as a multi-disciplinary trusted catalyst for industry enablement, offering distinctive capabilities and subject matter expertise to help our government sponsors rapidly integrate the right commercial solutions into critical mission programs. These initiatives encompass current and future activities characterized by early, consistent, and cooperative engagement with industry on behalf of the government, and with government oversight. This includes government-facing work, internally funded research, and the development of future programs to accelerate commercial solutions. Program activities align with industry-engaged mission engineering, market-informed open architecture development and compliance, speeding access to mission-enabling digital and physical infrastructure, mission-driven research and prototyping for transition to industry, acceleration of commercial acquisition, co-research, and more.
Roles & Responsibilities:
This position offers the ability to take a key role in developing, experimenting, and refining capabilities for MITRE's innovative framework for industry enablement, engaging with industry and academia, and coaching MITRE staff. This individual contributor position will collaborate on or lead projects across all of MITRE - MITRE Public Sector, MITRE National Security, and MITRE Technology and Engineering and will have frequent and in-depth engagement with external organizations.

- Lead and execute MITRE industry engagement strategy with a whole of government approach and diverse acceleration models; set performance metrics to evaluate effectiveness including sustained mission impact, speed to capability adoption, and cost effectiveness
- Serve as the front door and coordinator for Industry Enablement for MITRE spanning commercial industry (from start-ups, non-traditionals, and private capital to the DIB) and academia eliminating barriers for innovation
- Assist technology transition office and MITRE research and development teams with market and ecosystem analysis and tech scouting and scanning, cultivate long-term partnerships with industry and real world adoption of capabilities
- Develop deep insights to enhance future opportunities, anticipate trends and public sector industry enablement opportunities
- Support strategic FFRDC and government initiatives and work programs to accelerate the commercialization of federally funded research and development for technologies such as quantum, AI, autonomous systems, microelectronics, communications and networking, cybersecurity, PNT, sensing, and more.
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum of 12 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree in engineering, sciences, or business; or 10 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 7 years' experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
- In-depth understanding of the government contracting market, led large scale high impact critical technology programs within public sector agencies
- In-dept understanding of one or more critical and key enabling technologies, and acquisition reform in support of enabling non-traditional and tech innovator companies and ecosystems
- Demonstrated track record of successfully planning, coordinating, and delivering complex technology programs that require extensive coordination of multiple contributing organizations from vision to successful realization
- Strategic thinker who can synthesize large amounts of information quickly and communicate key information areas to large audiences/venues, social media, external web presence, and internal portals and communication channels
- Ability to balance progress on medium- and long-term projects with short-term deliverables, on-budget; matrix management of technical and project resources, and digital and physical labs
- Exceptional verbal, writing, and collaboration skills - relationship builder
- Strong cross-functional leadership, decision-making, and multi-tasking abilities; enjoys meeting the needs of internal and external customers
- Passion for public sector impact
- Must have an active Top Secret U.S Government issued Security Clearance. Per the U.S. Government's eligibility requirements, you must be a U.S Citizen to be considered for a security clearance.
- This position requires a minimum of 4 days a week on-site

- Extensive network spanning industry (innovators to primes)
