MDA Next Generation Database Administrator

Contingent upon prime contractor approval

Purpose:

• Valkyrie Enterprises has need for a MDA Next Generation Database Administrator in Huntsville, AL to serve in the Models Verification and Validation Team.
• In this role you will maintain the Model Assessment Limitations Tracker (MALT) and associated supporting documentation.

Job Description:

• Update MALT with status on open limitations/watch items at the end of each fiscal quarter.
• Update MALT to annotate limitations/watch items assessed during ground test events and when limitations/watch items are added, closed, or archived.
• Maintain and update all MALT supporting documentation to meet reporting requirements.
• Work with M&S Requirements team and MDS elements to develop and document simulation conceptual models (SCMs).
• Assist in the development of M&S System Requirements Documents (SRDs).
• Participate in technical interchange meetings, generate reports and briefs.

Qualifications:

• Must have a Master's degree and at least 12+ years of experience OR a Bachelor's degree and 20+ years of experience.
• Must have attention to detail; understand ground test scheduling and Accreditation Assessment Report and memo process.
• Must have expert with Microsoft Office -- Word, Excel, PowerPoint -- and Adobe Acrobat.
• Must have the ability to work well with engineering staff and understand modeling and simulation terminology.
• Must have Systems Engineering and/or Weapon Systems modeling background to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) efforts to develop system level modeling and simulation (M&S) requirements for its distributed M&S federation
• Must be able to apply simulation conceptual modeling (SCM) processes which essentially translate the physical representation of a real system into suitable abstractions that result in requirements that drive the development of the distributed M&S federation.
• Must have demonstrated the ability in systems thinking and familiarity with defense systems.

Desired Qualifications:

• Exceptional time management skills, preferred.
• Ability to balance workload, preferred.
• Background in technical writing/reporting, preferred.
• Familiarity with DOORS Next Generation (DNG) Data Base and publishing tools, preferred.
• Familiarity with requirements development processes, preferred.
• Familiarity with simulation conceptual model processes and tools, preferred.
• Familiarity with Missile Defense System (MDS), preferred.

Security Requirements:

• Must have an Active Secret Clearance and the ability to maintain it.

Travel Requirements:

• Minimal Travel; 10% or less
• If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Physical Requirements:

• Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods
• Able to sit and work on a computer for long periods of time
• Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another
• Communicating with others to exchange information
• Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds
