Job Description

Koniag Advisory and Business Solutions, LLC a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Atlassian Lead Platform Engineer to support KABS and our government customer in Washington, DC. The position is hybrid, requires 1 day onsite. This position requires the candidate to be able to obtain a Public Trust.

Koniag Advisory and Business Solutions, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking an Atlassian Lead Platform Engineer to support the Digital Workplace workforce by leading the configuration, integration, governance, and sustainment of Atlassian capabilities. This role will provide senior engineering direction for Jira, Confluence, Jira Service Management, automation, marketplace applications, permissions, reporting, and integrations that support Agile delivery and enterprise collaboration. Work will be performed at the client's facility or customer approved remote locations during Eastern Time core business hours.

The Atlassian Lead Platform Engineer will serve as the senior technical lead for Atlassian platform engineering and integration activities.

Principal responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
  • Lead Atlassian platform design, configuration, integration, standards, automation, and operational support across Jira, Confluence, and related tools.
  • Define implementation patterns for projects, workflows, schemes, permissions, issue types, automation rules, dashboards, and knowledge spaces.
  • Guide integration with identity, ServiceNow, reporting, DevSecOps, data catalog, and collaboration tools.
  • Assess platform health, usage, licensing, security posture, marketplace applications, and opportunities for consolidation or automation.
  • Provide technical direction to Atlassian engineers, administrators, product owners, Scrum Masters, and end users.
  • Support migration, cleanup, governance, and change control activities for Atlassian environments.
  • Develop platform documentation, runbooks, configuration standards, and release/change management guidance.


Education and Experience:

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
  • 7+ years of experience administering, engineering, integrating, or sustaining enterprise collaboration or ALM platforms.
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience with Jira, Confluence, Jira Service Management, or Atlassian Cloud/Data Center environments.


Desired:
  • Atlassian Certified Professional credential or comparable platform certification.
  • Experience supporting federal government Agile, DevSecOps, or IT service management environments.
  • Experience leading Atlassian migrations, consolidations, or governance improvement initiatives.


Required Skills and Competencies:
  • Advanced knowledge of Jira workflows, schemes, permissions, automations, dashboards, Confluence administration, and marketplace application governance.
  • Experience integrating Atlassian tools with identity providers, CI/CD tools, reporting platforms, ServiceNow, or enterprise data sources.
  • Ability to establish practical platform standards that balance team flexibility with enterprise governance.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for configuration, permissions, automation, performance, and integration issues.
  • Ability to lead technical discussions, document decisions, and support adoption across diverse delivery teams.
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.


Desired Skills and Competencies:
  • Experience with Atlassian Cloud administration, Atlassian Access, Guard, Assets, or Jira Service Management.
  • Knowledge of Agile, SAFe, ITIL, DevSecOps, and product delivery practices.
  • Experience with scripting, APIs, webhooks, marketplace apps, and automation at scale.
  • Familiarity with accessibility, records, audit, and federal compliance considerations for collaboration platforms.
