Job Description
Piper Companies is seeking a Linux Infrastructure Technical Lead to support mission-critical systems within a government-focused technology environment. The Linux Infrastructure Technical Lead will oversee enterprise Linux operations, infrastructure optimization initiatives, and technical mentorship for a distributed engineering team.
Responsibilities of the Linux Infrastructure Technical Lead:
• Lead the administration and support of enterprise Linux environments.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure standards, security controls, and operational procedures.
• Oversee system performance, patch management, and lifecycle activities.
• Collaborate with platform, security, and engineering teams on infrastructure initiatives.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers while promoting operational excellence.
• Drive automation efforts across Linux administration processes.
Qualifications of the Linux Infrastructure Technical Lead:
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
• 7+ years of Linux Systems Administration or Infrastructure Engineering experience.
• Advanced experience supporting Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Rocky Linux, or similar distributions.
• Strong knowledge of system performance tuning, patching, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with automation tools such as Ansible.
• Familiarity with cloud environments and enterprise infrastructure operations.
• Previous leadership or mentoring experience preferred.
Compensation for the Linux Infrastructure Technical Lead includes:
• Salary range: $150,000 - $180,000 depending on experience
