This role will offer you the following daily challenges:
Directs all phases of programs from inception through completion. Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. Responsible for the cost, schedule and technical performance of company programs or subsystems of major programs. Participates in the negotiation of contract and contract changes. Coordinates the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract. Acts as primary customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance. Establishes design concepts, criteria and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration and test. Develops new business or expands the product line with the customer. Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program problems and obtains solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications. Directs the work of employees assigned to the program from technical, manufacturing and administrative areas.

This position does not support teleworking; the preferred candidate will be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility in Herndon, VA , and be expected to work in the office, as well as needing to travel up to ~50% of the time.

Basic Qualifications
To be effective, you will need to possess these basic qualifications:
- BS in a STEM field (i.e., Aerospace, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, other),
- 15+ years of related technical and/or program management experience,
- Prior experience as a Cost Account Manager (CAM) and/or Earned Value Management (EVM) experience,
- Demonstrated expereince as a leader of leaders,
- You will need to be a US Citizen, and currently possess and be able to maintain a US DoD TOP SECRET clearance; with ability to get a TS/SCI /w Poly clearance , to support this government contract, as well as successfully pass a drug and background check, in order to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

- Strong executive presence and ability to influence customers to balance risk, cost, and schedule,
- Experience with DOD and IC Customers, Program Offices and Stakeholders,
- Prior experience in one or more of the following:
- Customer directed level of effort (LOE), fixed price and go fast contracts
- Cyber defensive and offensive technical experience and knowledge
- Agile release software development
- Management of subcontractors
- Experience leading a team in a fast paced environment supporting multiple programs,
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and quickly adjust to changing priorities,
- Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing with senior leadership, customers and stakeholders,
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail,
- Proven track record of establishing relationships with customers and other stakeholders.
