Data Scientist - Multiple Levels

Job Description

Hoplite Solutions is seeking experienced Data Scientists to design, build, and deploy data-driven and machine learning solutions that turn complex data into actionable insights. This posting supports Expert and SME-level openings across data modeling, NLP/text analytics, geospatial analytics, cloud-enabled workflows, and large-scale data processing.

Key Responsibilities:

Analyze complex datasets; design data models, pipelines, and analytic workflows; develop, validate, and deploy machine learning, statistical, NLP, and geospatial models; integrate analytical tools into existing systems, dataflows, or cloud infrastructure; and communicate findings clearly to technical, mission, customer, and business stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:

• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and applied data science methods.
• Experience building models, pipelines, or analytic workflows using large or complex datasets.
• Strong foundation in statistics, algorithms, data structures, and data modeling.
• Experience working in cloud, distributed, or clustered computing environments.
• Bachelor's degree in a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred / Role-Specific Qualifications:

• Experience with machine learning, deep learning, NLP, or text analytics tools and frameworks.
• Experience with AWS, cloud-enabled data workflows, or large-scale parallel processing platforms.
• Experience with geospatial analytics, Java development, CI/CD tools, or production machine learning systems.

Experience Levels:

Expert candidates independently build and deploy models, pipelines, and analytic workflows within a domain area.

SME candidates define analytic methodology, design scalable architectures, mentor team members, and lead delivery for complex data science and machine learning solutions.

Location: Positions are located in McLean, Chantilly, and Reston, VA. Some openings may support more than one location depending on role assignment.
