The Marketing/Designer Modeler - Journeyman produces visual, video, animated, marketing, internal-communications, and physical-model products supporting Directorate initiatives and senior-leader engagement. Independently performs graphic design, modeling, multimedia production, event media support, messaging, and 3-D model fabrication while maintaining Directorate repositories and meeting PWS quality and delivery thresholds.

Essential Role and Responsibilities
  • Independently execute modeling and design tasks using Adobe Creative Suite, Corel Draw, and Autodesk 3ds Max without Government-provided training.
  • Produce standard visual deliverables, including graphics, logos, vinyl sign cutting, and visual effects, in draft form within 10 business days with no more than three rounds of revision.
  • Capture event video and photography and deliver products within three business days; complete video-editing projects by the tasked deadline (default 10 business days) with no more than one revision for technical errors.
  • Develop a project plan for complex animations within five business days of kickoff and provide initial drafts by the tasked deadline (default 10 business days), with no more than two revision rounds for technical or storyboard errors.
  • Complete requested file conversions and Optical Character Recognition (OCR) scans within one business day with zero errors.
  • Provide strategic internal-communication support, including Monthly Activity Reports (MAR) and Weekly Activity Reports (WAR), leader-engagement media production packages, and Directorate messaging products.
  • Track internal-communication effectiveness and provide monthly status reporting detailing audience reach, platform engagement, and verified views current through the final day of the reporting period.
  • Produce physical models using 3-D printers to technical specifications and dimensional requirements in CAD files, including moving parts and paint schemes, by the tasked deadline (default 30 business days).
  • Update the physical and digital model repository with all relevant data within two business days of model completion or modification.
Required Qualifications
  • U.S. citizenship required for personnel requiring access to USAF bases, AFRL facilities, or U.S. Government IT networks; waivers require written Contracting Officer approval.
  • Able to obtain and maintain the clearance/trustworthiness determination required for assigned duties and complete required security and Operations Security (OPSEC) training.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, OneNote, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Teams), Adobe Acrobat, and Air Force-approved web applications; able to troubleshoot basic issues without regular supervision.
  • Effective oral and written communication, tact, courtesy, diplomacy, and professional decorum.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently use Adobe Creative Suite, Corel Draw, and Autodesk 3ds Max for assigned modeling and design tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with CAD-based 3-D printing, physical model finishing/paint schemes, photography, videography, animation, and internal marketing/communications in a technical or R&D environment.
  • Experience developing senior-leader or organizational communications and tracking audience/engagement metrics.
Performance Standards (KPIs)
  • Standard visual drafts delivered within 10 business days with no more than three revision rounds.
  • Video/photo capture delivered within three business days; video edits meet tasked deadline with no more than one technical-error revision.
  • Complex animation project plan delivered within five business days of kickoff and drafts meet tasked deadlines with no more than two technical/storyboard revision rounds.
  • Physical models delivered by tasked deadline (default 30 business days) with no more than two iterations for physical defects or paint-scheme errors; repository updated within two business days.
  • MAR/WAR and approved internal-communication products require zero revisions for content accuracy after leadership approval.
