Job Description

Duties

  • Support all aspects of mail and package receiving, screening and delivery tasks.
  • Enforces regulations and organizational policy as pertains to local postal service.
  • Receive and consolidate requirements for the installation's non-printable forms needs.
  • Advise and train mail clerks on proper postage operation.
  • Verifying Official service as back up Pass and ID operator prepared to execute CAC ID Cards appointments, pin resets, fixing issues, and issuing CAC cards .

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. A T3 secret clearance is required.
  • Completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
  • Obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
  • Position has a requirement to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • One year probationary period.
  • Tour of Duty for this position is Monday to Friday 8 hour days
  • This is a drug testing position.
  • Obtain and maintain Cyber work role 1) Foundational qualification requirements within 9 months, 2) Resident qualification requirements within 12 months, 3) 20 hours of Continuous Professional Development per work role code.
Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience

One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service which includes 1) Ensuring mail is assembled, addressed, sealed, and typed in accordance with regulations; (2) Advising customers on office mail procedures and policies; and (3) Performing mail processing procedures from receivables to distribution. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Position requires frequent lifting and carrying of heavy packages, mail bags, and pouches weighing over 40 pounds. Work requires concentration and working with frequent changes in work priorities.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is performed in an office or mail room environment and on loading docks or other areas exposed to the weather, and requires the use of protective clothing. Works around moving trucks and mail equipment.
