INTELLIGENCE OPERATIONS SPECIALIST

Duties

• You will plan and carry out all assignments necessary to collect needed intelligence information in his/her assigned area of responsibility.
• You will initiate collection strategies and formulates collection operations to develop human source network in order to target specific requirements and topics.
• You will prioritize sources with the potential for yielding high quality information based on own knowledge of assigned area of responsibility and outstanding intelligence requirements.
• You will brief high-level managers and other key personnel. Debriefs sources, gleaning maximum amount of reportable intelligence information.
• You will produce a high volume of professional quality reporting in a timely and accurate manner. Determines dissemination to consumer base.
• You will maintain liaison with personnel within the Service, outside intelligence agencies, operational forces, and allied governments as appropriate to discuss collection requirements and projects.
• Foreign Language in Greek 2/2 Proficiency is required. No Exceptions.

• You must acknowledge in writing that you are accepting an appointment in the excepted service which does not confer competitive status, prior to appointment.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• If selected, you may be required to complete a probationary or trial period.
• You must meet all qualification requirements upon the closing date of this announcement.
• Time-in-grade/band requirements must be met by the closing date of the announcement.
• This position requires DoW Counterintelligence certification. Assigned IOS will be a graduate of the Joint Counterintelligence Training Activity (JCITA) DoW Counterintelligence Agent Course (DCAC) (or equivalent course).
• Those selected to become an IOS not possessing the above minimum training will be required to attend and pass a formal certifying course within the first two years of employment.
• Advanced training and certification is required If this advanced certification, they will be required to attend and pass JCITA Joint Military Counterintelligence Collection Course (JMCC) within two years of onboarding and/or passing JCITA DCAC.
• Employees failing to complete required training in a satisfactory manner or who fail to master or maintain required skills in technical support roles may be subject to removal from the position, the IOS program and/or Federal service.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GG-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

• Analyzing and evaluating complex counter-terrorism, counterintelligence, and/or criminal intelligence issues (e.g. political, social, cultural, geographic, or technical issues),
• Source handling
• Operations/Human Derived Intelligence (HDI) collections.
