This exciting position is with our historic Skunk Works program. Skunk Works is an integral part of Lockheed's Aeronautics business area responsible for advanced systems development including conceptual design and rapid prototyping of clean sheet solutions and improvements and derivatives to existing systems. The ideal skunk is an agile, multi-faceted teammate who loves to solve our customer's most difficult challenges. Some of our unclassified projects include the U-2, SR-71 Blackbird, F-22 Raptor, F-117 Nighthawk, and the F-35 Lightening II. Selected applicant will join a unique "Skunkworks" Advanced Development Program (ADP) team.

The selected candidate will support a program in the Santa Barbara area. Candidates must be willing to travel to and work at austere remote locations to support Customer requirements. Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid U.S. passport, accept customer furnished quarters and comply with mobility requirements such as chemical warfare training and receive applicable vaccinations. Must pass an overseas physical and meet customer medical requirements.

This candidate will be an integral member of the operations and maintenance team. Support the on-site Customer and work to deploy, prepare, maintain and re-deploy program assets. Accomplish fault analysis and resolution of aircraft electrical and avionics system / subsystem discrepancies. Attend debriefings to aid in the rapid identification of system issues and detect emerging issues. Document operational / maintenance problems, and communicate within program channels to ensure the company can resolve technical issues and identify failure trends. Will be required to operate and assist in the service and maintenance of support equipment.

Provides a level of postsales support and service to customer sites and remote sites at a high-tech level that cannot be rendered by the basic level of field hardware and systems software service. Employee is usually introduced to the customer site when the nature of equipment service required is beyond the skill level possessed by the basic field/customer service engineer.

Basic Qualifications

• Customer interface experience in a field environment

• Troubleshooting experience with aircraft electrical and avionics systems

• Active Top Secret Clearance

Desired Skills

• Experience with aircraft shop practices, shop safety, tools and test equipment

• Cost, Schedule and Quality management supporting MRO activities

• Technical report writing

• Experience operating / maintaining support equipment

• Willing to travel, work any shift, weekends and holidays to meet customer requirements

• FAA A&P License, AET certification or avionics related Repairman certification

• Comprehensive aircraft electrical and avionics systems background / experience

• Ability to work with and interact with the Customer as well as Program Engineers

• Willing to travel to and work at austere remote locations and accept assignment to Customer selected locations to support Customer requirements

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $81500.00 - $151300.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
