Standard Job Description

The Lockheed Martin Global Comms and Navigation Mission Segment is designing, developing, and delivering an integrated space/ground Satellite Communications (SATCOM) system. This position will be the Chief Systems Engineering and lead for the Systems Engineering, Integration and Test (SEIT) team in support of the design, development, production, integration, test, and delivery of this critical capability focused on the requirements development, decomposition, and verification.

Your responsibilities will include lead the definition and execution of the SEIT Activities required to design, develop, integrate, test, and deliver system in accordance with the Requirements Baseline and Test Plan. This includes leading efforts to:

-Maintain and manage the technical requirements baseline

-Maintain and manage the System Test Plan and Integration efforts

-Establish and Track Program Technical Performance Measures (TPMs)

-Conduct of Systems Engineering Technical and Readiness Reviews

-Lead the Program's Verification and Validation and associated Risk Reduction planning and execution;

-Partner with the Program's Manager, Chief Engineer, and other IPT leads to enable successful program execution

-Oversee an integrate, as needed, specialty and cyber engineering efforts

Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. For positions that perform IT responsibilities, use E646, Systems Engr-IT.

Basic Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Engineering or a closely related technical discipline

- 8 years (min) of Engineering Experience (including extensive Systems Engineering and Integration experience)

- 2 years (min) of Leadership experience

- Program/Execution-focused IPT/Team Leadership experience

- Digital Engineering/MBSE Experience 1 year (min)

- Experience across multiple program phases (emphasis on SRR through delivery)

- Familiar with common Systems Engineering Tools (DOORS, CAMEO)

- Demonstrated Understanding/Leadership Risk and Opportunity Management Process

- Familarity with Communication Systems and/or technologies

- Strong interpersonal skills

- Possess TS clearance

Desired Skills

- Experience as Chief Systems Engineer and/or Chief Engineer on complex program(s)

- Experience in the design, development, and delivery of Satellite and Ground Systems

- Software Development, Integration, and testing (to include requirements and interface definition)

- Cybersecurity experience/understanding

- Experience with baseline management and change control processes

- Fixed-price contract execution experience

- Experience leading on-orbit test (from initial preparation/planning through sell-off)

- Satellite Communications Systems Design/Development/Delivery Experience

- Active SCI clearance

- Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $145100.00 - $269500.00

PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
