Primary Responsibilities
- Perform MIG welding on structural steel components, beams, columns, plates, and welded assemblies.
- Read and interpret welding blueprints, fabrication drawings, and welding symbols.
- Fit, align, tack, and weld steel components according to specifications and quality standards.
- Prepare welding surfaces and materials before beginning welds.
- Inspect completed welds for quality, penetration, consistency, and structural integrity.
- Perform grinding and weld finishing as required.
- Follow established welding procedures and specifications.
- Maintain welding equipment and report any equipment issues.
- Follow all required welding safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.
- Complete assigned welding work according to production schedules and quality requirements.
- Minimum 2 years of structural steel or heavy fabrication welding experience.
- Proficiency in MIG welding.
- Flux-Core and Stick welding experience is a plus.
- Ability to read and understand welding blueprints and welding symbols.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment welding test.
- Strong understanding of proper welding techniques and procedures.
- Ability to inspect welds and identify potential defects.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced welding environment.
- Reliable transportation and excellent attendance.
- Required welding PPE.
