Job Description
Information Systems Solutions (ISS) is seeking qualified candidates to support a Security Operations Center (SOC) for a Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation (RDT&E) network supporting a US Government customer.
This position is ideal for personnel who have previously worked on an IT Service Desk and desire to specialize in the field of cybersecurity.
This position is 100% onsite.
Within this team, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with a variety of cybersecurity subject matter experts, learn from their expertise, and play a key role in safeguarding critical government networks.
The selected candidates will primarily be responsible for serving as Tier 2 customer service for a range of security incidents, providing the following support:
· Provide phone, email, chat, and website comment-based customer service and technical support to RDT&E network personnel and users. Document, assign, track, and resolve security-related tickets (requests and changes) in the government-directed ticket management tool.
· Analyze security scanner findings to recommend specific patches, hotfixes, and countermeasures. Assist system administrators in configuring RDT&E systems for authenticated scanning, 802.1x network access control, and Comply-to-Connect (C2C) requirements. Perform initial review of event and incident logs to gather information on suspected incidents and perform triage.
· Provide direct support for Secure Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) configuration and verification across RDT&E systems to ensure baseline operating standards.
· Assist users in maintaining and updating network security postures of devices, including endpoint security software, VPN configuration, port and protocol requirements, and the removal of unauthorized software.
