Job Description
Tharros is seeking a Senior Configuration Management Analyst to support the NSWCDD in Dahlgren, VA. This position provides senior-level configuration management support for complex Navy weapon, combat, and fire control systems throughout the full system lifecycle.

The Senior Configuration Management Analyst will help maintain the technical integrity and traceability of system baselines through configuration control, documentation management, status accounting, change management, and release activities. The position works closely with Government and engineering teams to ensure hardware, software, and technical documentation remain properly controlled as systems are developed, integrated, tested, fielded, sustained, and modernized.

Requirements
  • Develop, implement, and maintain configuration management processes and procedures supporting weapon, combat, and fire control systems.
  • Manage configuration baselines and maintain configuration control across hardware, software, firmware, and associated technical documentation.
  • Maintain documentation version control and coordinate controlled releases for weapon and fire control system products.
  • Perform configuration status accounting and track changes across multiple system and software baselines.
  • Support Configuration Control Boards (CCBs), including preparation, coordination, tracking, and disposition of proposed configuration changes.
  • Support the development, review, tracking, and processing of Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and other configuration change documentation.
  • Generate, maintain, and report software and configuration management metrics to support program status, technical reviews, and Government reporting requirements.
  • Manage software media generation, release, distribution, and associated configuration records.
  • Coordinate the generation, verification, release, and distribution of hardware and software technical documentation.
  • Develop and maintain software development process documentation, configuration management plans, standards, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Maintain traceability and configuration records using Government-provided configuration management and requirements management tools.
  • Coordinate configuration management activities with Government CM authorities, systems engineers, software teams, test organizations, and other program stakeholders.
  • Support technical reviews, audits, working groups, and other program activities requiring configuration management expertise.
  • Identify configuration discrepancies, assess impacts to established baselines, and support resolution of configuration-related issues.


Requirements
  • Active TS/SCI clearance.
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from an accredited college or university with at least five (5) years of relevant experience
    • OR at least eight (8) years of relevant experience within applicable technical disciplines.
  • At least five (5) years of experience developing and managing technical documentation, specifications, standards, procedures, and instructions supporting configuration management activities.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting combat systems, weapon systems, fire control systems, or DoD enterprise software environments.
  • Experience with configuration management processes and functions, including:
  • Configuration identification and baseline management
  • Configuration status accounting
  • Documentation and software version control
  • Software releases and media generation
  • Hardware/software documentation generation, verification, and distribution
  • Software metrics generation and reporting
  • Configuration change control and CCB support
  • Software development process documentation
  • At least three (3) years of concurrent experience supporting current Navy programs such as SLBM Fire Control System, Aegis, SSDS, or comparable DoD programs such as MADSS.
  • Experience facilitating or supporting Configuration Control Boards (CCBs) and managing documentation change requests through review, approval, implementation, and closure.
  • Experience using configuration management, requirements management, and development tools such as ACCESS, DOORS, Azure DevOps, Jira, Change Synergy, and/or SWIMS.
  • Ability to coordinate configuration management activities across Government, engineering, software development, integration, test, and program management teams.
  • Strong technical documentation, organization, communication, and analytical skills.
