Job Description

Summary

We are seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to oversee building operations, maintenance activities, and facility support services for a dynamic government-focused environment. This role serves as the primary point of coordination for facility maintenance, vendor management, space planning, capital improvement projects, and client engagement activities.

The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational, financial, and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities while ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective facility operations. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with internal stakeholders, contractors, and client representatives to support mission-critical operations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Attend client meetings and provide facility-related updates and recommendations.
  • Coordinate and oversee maintenance, repair, landscaping, and janitorial services performed by technicians, contractors, and vendors.
  • Review work orders to ensure timely and satisfactory completion of assigned tasks.
  • Conduct facility inspections and prepare related reports.
  • Coordinate office moves, facility modifications, and workplace reconfiguration activities.
  • Obtain and evaluate cost proposals for materials, services, and project labor.
  • Manage capital improvement projects from planning through completion.
  • Prepare and monitor operating and capital budgets and analyze budget variances.
  • Manage vendor performance and ensure compliance with established service standards.
  • Train vendors on work order management and billing procedures.
  • Review and approve invoices and ensure accurate cost center coding.
  • Conduct financial and operational analyses and prepare management reports.
  • Provide leadershipand guidance to employees within assigned functional areas.
  • Oversee preventive maintenance programs to ensure optimal facility performance.
  • Manage sustainability and recycling initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable safety, environmental, and operational requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Architecture, Business Administration, or a related field; and four years of experience in facilities management, building operations, property management; OR
  • 8 years of experience in facilities management, building operations, property management, or a related field.
  • Experience coordinating vendors, contractors, and maintenance activities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to effectively interact with customers, employees, contractors, and senior leadership.
  • Experience managing budgets and performing financial analysis.
  • Active Top Secret clearance.
  • Successfully pass background and drug screening


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior supervisory or management experience.
  • Facility Management certification (CFM, FMP, or equivalent).
  • Experience supporting government or commercial facilities operations.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of building operations and maintenance principles.
  • Understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
  • Strong customer service and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to interpret operational data and make sound business decisions.
  • Proficiency with facility management systems, Microsoft Office applications, and reporting tools.

  • Sufficient fine motor skill for use of computers, calculator with an ability to withstand repetitive keyboarding for extended periods of time

  • Ability to push, pull, carry and lift objects weighing up to 20 pounds on a regular basis and more on an occasional basis
