Position Summary
We are recruiting for a Systems Engineer to join SYD 85/BAL in Colorado Springs, CO supporting the Ground-Based Radar Digitization (GBRD) program. The Ground-Based Radar Digitization (GBRD) program modernizes the legacy radar systems associated with the five Upgraded Early Warning Radars (UEWRs) and the Perimeter Acquisition Radar Attack Characterization System (PARCS), which provide continuous surveillance for missile and satellite detection, tracking, and reporting to support Missile Warning, Missile Defense, and Space Domain Awareness missions. This modernization effort replaces outdated analog and hardware-only components with advanced digital, scalable solutions that leverage a government-owned, open-architecture approach. An additional program goal is to address existing cybersecurity vulnerabilities in the legacy systems by improving cybersecurity capabilities, to include threat detection and data protection.
This is a full-time position located at Garden of the Gods Facility in Colorado Springs.

Minimum Requirements:
Citizenship: Must be a US Citizen
Clearance: Must have and be able to maintain a valid DOD Secret clearance
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Years of Experience: 20 years of directly related experience with proper certifications, 8 of which must be in the DoD OR,
BA/BS degree, and 15 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, 5 of which must be in the DoD OR, Advanced Degree (MS) and 12 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, 5 years of which must be in the DoD
Preferred Experience:
Preferred Education: BA/BS degree, and 15 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, 5 of which must be in the DoD OR, Advanced Degree (MS) and 12 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, 5 years of which must be in the DoD
Travel 10%

Responsibilities
Duties include, but not limited to:
- Possess experience and understanding of modern engineering tools, methods, and practices through Digital Engineering (DE), Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), and Systems and Architectural design
- Possess experience in MBSE using Systems Modeling Language (SysML) and common tools such as Sparx Enterprise Architect, MagicDraw, Cameo Enterprise Architect, etc.
- Possess a strong understanding of implementing a Digital Engineering Ecosystem / Environment within a DoD system
- Conduct reviews to evaluate and/or recommend alternative plans, improve systems engineering programs/processes, manage/sustain program technical baseline, and design/perform system level tests to assure that subsystems and system performance is achieved in accordance with approved specifications
- Prepare technical documents which define, specify, and recommend system/subsystem characteristics
- Prepare reports and conducts technical presentations for planning, implementation and corrective action using application of engineering economy principles, delivering presentations to customers, leadership, and technical personnel
- Perform validation of systems, including development of criteria and procedures. Analyze and/or evaluate results of major engineering systems
- Provide system/program engineering, technical support and technical training to support programs/initiatives, including but not limited to: acquisition, development, integration, sustainment, continued evolution, deployment/fielding and installation, and operations oversight
- Provide proposal analysis support services that compare and quantify proposed systems, components, approaches for technical feasibility, compatibility, and cost effectiveness
- Provide concepts and requirements analyses support services including, but not limited to, reviewing and analyzing:
- Initial Capabilities Documents (ICDs),
- Capability Development Documents (CDDs),
- Capability Production Documents (CPDs),
- Analysis of Alternatives (AoAs),
- Military Utility Assessments (MUAs)
- Concepts of Operation (CONOPs),
- Technology Development Strategies,
- Functional Configuration Audits / Physical Configuration Audits (FCAs/PCAs), and
- Technology Standards Profiles
- Review and analyze system concepts and user requirements that have been approved and entered into a system requirements baseline (functional, allocated, and product)
