Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Interior Designer / Visual Graphics Designer to support projects for the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) in Springfield, Virginia.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in interior design combined with significant experience in visual graphics and environmental design. This position requires a creative professional who can develop compelling and functional interior environments while producing high-quality posters, signage, displays, visual graphics, and other communication materials.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop interior design concepts, layouts, presentations, and design documentation.
• Create posters, signage, environmental graphics, displays, and visual communication materials.
• Develop 2D and 3D design concepts, renderings, floor plans, and visual presentations.
• Create compelling visual graphics that communicate information clearly and effectively within workplace environments.
• Prepare production-ready artwork and design documentation for signage and large-format graphics.
• Collaborate with architects, interior designers, project managers, facility teams, and other stakeholders.
• Translate project requirements and concepts into visually engaging design solutions.
• Develop space-planning concepts and assist with furniture, finishes, materials, and interior selections.
• Produce 3D models and renderings to communicate design intent.
• Coordinate with vendors and production teams on the fabrication and installation of signage, graphics, and displays.
• Manage multiple projects and design assignments while meeting deadlines and quality requirements.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in interior design, Graphic Design, Architecture, Visual Communication, or a related field preferred.
• Significant professional experience in Interior Design and Visual/Environmental Graphics.
• Demonstrated experience creating:
o Posters
o Signage and wayfinding
o Environmental graphics
o Displays and visual communications
o Presentations and design layouts
• Strong understanding of design principles, typography, color, composition, spatial relationships, and visual communication.
• Experience developing both 2D and 3D design concepts.
• Proficiency with relevant design and visualization software, including experience with one or more of the following:
o SketchUp
o Floorplanner
o Planner 5D
o Blender
o Rhino
o Revit
• Proficiency with graphic design tools such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
• Ability to develop concepts from initial sketches through final design and production.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a project-based environment.
