Job Description Summary
Responsible for the connection and interface between Design Engineering to Quality and Supply Chain for strategic program improvements. Focused on enabling hardware flow, improving quality through design action, and ensuring high integration between design and vendor process development. This role will act as a tactical leader, process improvement owner, and mentor to others within the team to optimize quality to enable delivery for the NGP module.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Lead integrated quality efforts across the module by interfacing between quality, supply chain, and product line teams at the part-number and supplier level, including managing multiple parts and suppliers where needed to reduce MRB, and improve delivery

• Develop and implement proactive strategies for critical hardware, including suppliers and initiatives, to reduce quality defects through design optimization and implementation of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)

• Develop strategy with supply chain to tactically and systemically eliminate non-conformances, including Integrating with Supplier Quality Engineering to develop root cause and corrective actions

• Mentor and coach colleagues with less experience, both within and outside the design organization, sharing best practices on vendor collaboration, defect reduction, and MRB FTY
  • Mentor and coach the design team on APQP implementation

• Communicate effectively across functions and levels, building consensus and influencing outcomes in a highly matrixed environment

• Travel as needed to support on-site engagement with vendors and partners

Required Qualifications
  • Must have existing US Government Security clearance at the Secret level
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or aeronautical engineering from an accredited university
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a mechanical design or mechanical analysis engineering position
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening

Desired Characteristics
  • Master's degree in mechanical engineering or aeronautical engineering from an accredited university
  • Current/previous experience on an NGP program
  • Previous experience mentoring other engineers
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
  • Demonstrated ability to lead programs, projects, and teams
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
  • Established project management skills
  • Deep understanding of GE Quality Management System
  • Experience working all phases of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)
  • Team-oriented, growth-driven, and people-savvy: Demonstrates humility and a team-first mindset, shows strong drive and ownership to continuously improve outcomes, and brings high interpersonal awareness to communicate effectively, build trust, and collaborate across diverse stakeholders
