About the Role:
Aquila Technology is seeking a Software Developer to join our team in supporting one of the country’s premier defense research organizations. The team is in need of a versatile Software Developer for several programs involving hardware and software. The developer will be working with a small team to develop, test, and deploy software for operational use in the field. A strong background in C++, Python, software best practices, and willingness to adapt and learn are essential. In addition, strong communication skills and experience working with a team in rapid development cycles is required.

Aquila Technology will reimburse team members who work from home ONLY for cell phone/mobile device fees for work-related communications and/or operations each month. Employees eligible for this benefit must work remote 2 days a week or more to qualify.
Buy Your Own Device (BYOD) – Team members are eligible for reimbursement of up to $1,500 every three (3) years for the purchase of electronic equipment used to access corporate services. To qualify for this benefit, employees must have completed a minimum of six (6) months of employment and must agree to and sign the Device Minimum Configuration Form prior to reimbursement. Electronic devices eligible under the Buy Your Own Device (BYOD) program are limited to cell phones, laptops, and tablets.
Clearance Level: An interim clearance is sufficient for the start of this position.
Work Location: This position is HYBRID. The individual will be required to be onsite 3 days a week. Candidates are expected to be local at the time of the start of the assignment. Final scheduled TBD by hiring manager.

Must Have
- 1 years – Database Applications (Relational & NoSQL models)
- 3 years – Software Development
- 3 years – C/C++, Java, Python, Bash, SQL, Java Script / HTML / CSS, Matlab
- 1 years – Container Technologies (PODMAN, Docker or Kubernetes)
- 3 years – Full stack development experience including working on application logic and user interfaces
- 1 years – Experience with REST, PubSub, APIs, SDKs, and application interfaces
- 1 years – Experience with distributed systems and computing
- 1 years – Small computer platforms (Raspberry Pis, Arduino, Jetson or similar edge computing devices)

- Database usage, design, and optimization.
- Service oriented architecture or microservice architecture
- Video processing and streaming protocols

What You Will Bring:
- Software development experience
- Familiarity with at least two of the following languages: Python, JavaScript, C, C++, Java
- Full stack development experience including working on application logic and user interfaces
- Experience with containerized application development through tools like Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, or similar
- Experience with database technologies, such as relational or NoSQL
- Experience with multiple application interface, design and message passing technologies like REST, PubSub, development of APIs or SDKs, etc
- Experience with distributed computing either through working on multiple parts of a distributed system or contributing to the development of at least one part of a distributed system
- Experience with small compute platforms like Raspberry Pis, Arduino, Jetson or similar edge computing devices
