Zachary Piper Solutions is currently seeking a Program Manager to support the Space Combat Power Systems Portfolio based in El Segundo, CA. This position is a full-time role that will be onsite. As a Program Manager, you will serve as a critical embedded member of the Government team supporting the U.S. Space Force (USSF) Space Systems Command (SSC), applying advanced acquisition and project management expertise to shape and deliver next-generation space capabilities. This role focuses on complex systems acquisition, strategic planning, program integration, financial oversight, and execution excellence aligned with the evolving Warfighting Acquisition System (WAS) philosophy.

This role focuses on complex systems acquisition, strategic planning, program integration, financial oversight, and execution excellence aligned with the evolving Warfighting Acquisition System (WAS) philosophy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Government Program Manager in guiding acquisition strategies, program schedules, resource allocation, contracting actions, and budgeting activities aligned with mission priorities.
- Oversee all aspects of program execution, including milestone delivery, risk management, testing activities, system integration efforts, and contractor performance.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration across Government and contractor teams to ensure seamless integration of space, ground, and communication segments.
- Organize and execute Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs), program reviews, and staff meetings to assess progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions.
- Apply advanced configuration management and change management practices to maintain consistency and traceability across program documentation, including Interface Control Documents (ICDs), performance goals, and program milestones.
- Evaluate contractor system designs, technical baselines, and milestone reviews, providing leadership with assessments of technical progress, risk posture, and mission readiness.
- Manage independent technical and programmatic reviews to validate system effectiveness and mission performance.
- Provide guidance on funding commitments, obligations, expenditures, and financial planning to ensure efficient utilization of resources.
- Advocate for deliberate risk-taking, rapid acquisition principles, and accelerated capability delivery in accordance with the Warfighting Acquisition System (WAS).
- Prepare and deliver executive-level briefings, reports, and acquisition documentation to stakeholders across Government and industry.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and 15+ years of relevant experience, or Master's degree and 13+ years of relevant experience.
- Must possess an in-scope T5 or SSBI security background investigation adjudicated for SCI eligibility and enrolled in the Continuous Evaluation Program (if applicable).
- Must be willing to be nominated for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and Special Access Programs (SAP) , and consent to a polygraph examination if required.
- Demonstrated Program Management or leadership experience supporting complex systems programs.
- Experience within Aerospace, Space, Defense, or DoD environments coordinating across space and ground segment organizations.
- Proven experience managing performance-based Government contracts, including development and management of cost, schedule, and risk baselines.
- Experience supporting Air Force, Space Force, or DoD acquisition organizations.
- Strong understanding of systems integration, mission assurance, and end-to-end mission performance requirements.
- Experience developing, writing, and presenting technical documentation, reports, and executive briefings.
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and stakeholders.
