About You and the Role
The Cryptographic Test Engineer & Network Engineer will provide security and functional testing for cryptographic network systems. This is an exciting position which will introduce networking professionals to cutting edge networks and cryptographic systems.

We are looking for a San Diego-based Cryptographic Test Engineer & Network Engineer to join our team at NKI. This is a 100% onsite, full-time position following a 9/80 schedule.

Responsibilities Include:
• Perform configuration and set up of cryptographic devices in a variety of network systems and environments
• Perform functional and performance testing of devices to determine suitability with operational military capabilities
• Develop test reports
• Answer technical queries and assist Navy users
• Create/Maintain documentation of system configuration

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field of study.
• 2+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Experience with:
o Networking (Basic routing, use of Cisco IOS, knowledge of VPNs)
o Administering Linux / CentOS (RHCSA preferred)
o Configuring/managing cryptographic devices
o Key management systems/PKI concepts
o VPN tunneling, SSH
o Monitoring tools and their implementation (e.g., Snort)
• U.S. citizenship required; must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with Government Crypto devices.
• Security Certifications (CISSP, CompTIA+, Security+).

Compensation
• Base salary: $85,000-$110,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
