About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Hardware Development Engineer to join a highly collaborative engineering team developing advanced positioning, navigation, and timing solutions used in mission-critical aerospace and defense applications. This is an opportunity to take ownership of products throughout the entire development lifecycle, from initial concept and architecture through production release and long-term support.
The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in mixed-signal hardware design, embedded systems, RF technologies, and FPGA-based development while working closely with software, systems, manufacturing, quality, and certification teams to deliver reliable, high-performance products.
Responsibilities
Design and develop complex digital, analog, RF, and power circuit boards
Create and maintain schematics for advanced electronic systems
Perform board layout reviews, simulations, and hardware verification activities
Conduct full hardware bring-up, integration, and debugging efforts
Support FPGA integration and programmable logic solutions
Evaluate signal integrity and performance for high-speed digital designs
Perform root cause analysis and troubleshoot complex hardware issues
Develop technical documentation, test procedures, and engineering reports
Support sustaining engineering activities and product enhancements
Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the product lifecycle
Assist with product certification and compliance efforts in regulated aerospace environments
Develop and support Board Support Packages (BSPs) for CISC and RISC processor platforms as well as microcontrollers
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline
Experience developing embedded systems and embedded software applications
Strong Embedded C programming experience
Experience with multithreaded software and embedded architectures
Hands-on hardware development experience
Knowledge of RF engineering principles and RF-based hardware systems
Experience creating and reviewing electronic schematics
Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills
Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams
Technical Experience
Candidates should have experience in some or all of the following areas:
Mixed-signal circuit design
High-speed ADCs
Memory interfaces
SERDES technologies
FPGA-based systems
Hardware verification and validation
Digital and analog circuit design
Power electronics
Signal integrity analysis
Board-level testing and troubleshooting
Embedded processor and microcontroller platforms
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with GPS or GNSS technologies
Aerospace or defense industry experience
FPGA development experience using VHDL and/or Verilog
Exposure to aviation electronics or navigation systems
Experience supporting products in highly regulated environments
