Responsibilities
Noblis is seeking Data Engineers at multiple levels to join our team in support of national security missions.
As the ETL Developer, you analyze our clients' challenges and provide solutions by identifying and applying new tools and technologies to help design new data repositories. You will be responsible for maintaining and expanding the data pipeline that fuels critical national security missions and manipulating data and data flows for both existing and new systems. You will provide support in the areas of data extraction, transformation and load (ETL), data mapping, data extraction, analytical support, operational support, database support, and maintenance support of data and associated systems. Additionally, you will work alongside our team and cyber analysts performing data engineering to identify data sets.
The ideal candidate will have a deep background in Python-based data workflows and experience working in classified IC environments.

Compensation at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is based on full time status. For part time or on-call staff, compensation is proportionately adjusted based on hours worked. While monetary compensation is important, it's just one component of Noblis' total compensation package.

Job Responsibilities:
- Developing, maintaining, and executing data extraction pipelines to transport data in and out of multiple environments.
- ETL Development and Data Cleansing: Engineering Python-based ETL pipelines to ingest, clean, and optimize large datasets from various sources, refining data quality and processing efficiency.
- Data Preparation: Applying Python and SQL for data cleaning, integration, and exploratory analysis to uncover valuable insights extracted from large volumes of data.
- Data Visualization: Designing and deploying interactive dashboards and reporting in visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
- Improving application performance by optimizing and executing SQL queries to support data handling.
- Loading data into storage systems like databases or data warehouses.
- Building and maintaining data infrastructure (e.g., NiFi, Pentaho, Hevo).
- Maintaining and documenting ETL workflows and recording data movement/changes.
- Working in an Agile environment to rapidly iterate with our clients.Cross-functional collaboration: Partner closely with data scientists, data engineers, and application developers to translate complex business requirements into robust technical implementations.
Required Qualifications

Clearance: Active Top-Secret SCI (TS/SCI) with Polygraph
- ETL Pipeline Development: Demonstrated experience designing, developing, and optimizing Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) pipelines-specifically for cyber data-including data integration, cleansing, normalization, and preparation from diverse sources to support advanced analytics and reporting.
- Data Warehousing & Management: Strong proficiency in data warehousing principles, data lifecycle management, and industry-standard ETL tools (e.g., Apache NiFi, Pentaho, Kafka).
- Cyber Domain Expertise: Familiarity with the cyber domain, including an understanding of cybersecurity data structures, threat intelligence feeds, and security event data.
- SQL & Database Engineering: Proven experience designing, developing, and maintaining SQL-based data systems, including the ability to craft complex queries for data extraction, transformation, and performance optimization.
- Data Visualization & Reporting: Experience designing and deploying interactive dashboards and integrating data systems with enterprise visualization and analytics platforms such as Tableau and/or Power BI.
- Cloud & Containerization: Hands-on experience operating within cloud environments (e.g., AWS, GCP), including familiarity with cloud security best practices and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Python Development: Proficiency in Python for scripting, automation, data manipulation, and pipeline orchestration.
- Version Control & Collaboration: Experience with Git-based workflows and code repository platforms (e.g., GitHub, GitLab) for collaborative development and CI/CD integration.
- API Development: Ability to design, develop, and maintain RESTful API services to support data ingestion, integration, and system interoperability.
- Level II: Bachelor's degree with 3 years of related experience; OR associate's degree with 6 years of related experience; OR High School diploma/GED with 9 years of related experience.
