Position Overview
Halvik is seeking a candidate who will be responsible for operating, administering and securing a Federal government organization's network infrastructure. This candidate will support planning, performing, testing, and documenting network posture to ensure proper and secure connectivity and operations within the customer organization's cloud environments and external connections. This role requires a deep understanding of network architecture, protocols, and security with a strong background in network design.
This role in on-site in Washington, DC daily M-F.

This role requires a deep understanding of network architecture, protocols, and security with a strong background in network design.
This role in on-site in Washington, DC daily M-F.
Core Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage robust network architectures (LAN, WAN, and cloud networks).
- Troubleshoot complex network issues, identify root causes, and optimize network infrastructure for performance, reliability, availability, and scalability.
- Plan, implement, and manage network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, access control mechanisms, and other network security technologies.
- Plan and execute network upgrades, expansions, migrations, and infrastructure changes while minimizing operational impact.
- Monitor network performance, availability, capacity, and health, and conduct periodic network audits to identify deficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
- Implement and maintain network security measures in alignment with organizational security policies, standards, and applicable security requirements.
- Administer, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Palo Alto Networks firewall infrastructure, including firewall software, operating system and software upgrades, security policies, routing, access control lists (ACLs), NAT, VPNs, security profiles, logging, and related firewall configurations.
- Configure, manage, and troubleshoot network routing protocols, routing tables, static and dynamic routes, and associated network connectivity to support enterprise network operations.
- Administer, configure, monitor, and troubleshoot NetApp storage infrastructure supporting company network and systems operations.
Minimum Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline
- Experience: Minimum 8 years of experience.
- Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience in the Microsoft Azure Cloud platform environment. Deep understanding of networking protocols and network security principles. Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with cloud networking and routing. Demonstrated knowledge of and experience applying network architecture principles, design patterns, and best practices.
- Certifications: While not mandatory, possession will have more weight in consideration (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate or equivalent)
- Must hold an active Secret security clearance.
Preferred Expertise
- Demonstrated success supporting Federal contracts.
- Experience with a wide variety of network technologies and solutions architectures is a plus
- Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical content into terms suitable for executive and government stakeholders. Strong troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with others and contribute to a team environment.
