Automated Tester
Remote
Blu Omega is seeking an Automated Tester to support a federal program focused on IT modernization and mortgage technology. This role operates within a remote environment and is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining automated testing solutions. The position requires experience supporting quality assurance practices across web applications, APIs, and integrated systems.
Program Overview
The program supports a federal agency's efforts to modernize IT systems related to mortgage services for Veterans.

Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks for UI, API, integration, and regression testing.
• Create and execute automated test scripts using frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.
• Develop API test automation for REST/JSON services using tools like Postman/Newman, RestAssured, or Karate.
• Collaborate with developers to improve application testability and support unit and integration testing strategies.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.
• Define and manage test data, test environments, and automated reporting metrics.
• Translate user stories and requirements into test scenarios and automation plans.
• Perform defect triage and root-cause analysis, documenting results to support audit readiness.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate across distributed teams.
Required Qualifications
• 3+ years of software testing experience with hands-on test automation.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C#, Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
• Experience testing web applications and APIs, developing automated regression test suites.
• Hands-on experience with automation frameworks like Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.
• API testing and automation experience with tools such as Postman/Newman, RestAssured, or Karate.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and modern SDLC practices.
• Knowledge of Git and CI/CD workflows.
• Strong communication skills and ability to produce clear documentation.
• Ability to meet federal background check requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience supporting federal IT programs or regulated environments.
• Knowledge of DevSecOps, containerized environments like Docker, and infrastructure-as-code.
• Familiarity with accessibility standards such as Section 508 and WCAG.
• Understanding of application security fundamentals, including OWASP Top 10.
• Experience with mortgage, lending, or financial systems.
• Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter or k6.
Compensation
Salary Range: $62,000.00 - $72,000.00
Final compensation is based on skills, experience, education, certifications, and clearance.
