Blu Omega is seeking a Manual Tester to support a federal program focused on veteran benefits. This role operates within a remote environment and is responsible for executing manual testing activities to ensure software quality and functionality. The position requires experience supporting software testing within regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Review requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and design documentation to understand expected system behavior and testing needs.
• Develop and execute manual test cases, test scenarios, and test plans based on functional and business requirements.
• Perform functional, system, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
• Identify, document, and track defects using tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
• Validate defect fixes through retesting and regression testing to ensure issues are resolved prior to release.
• Collaborate with developers, QA teams, business analysts, and stakeholders to clarify requirements and resolve issues.
• Maintain clear and accurate documentation of testing activities, results, defects, and resolution status.
• Support continuous improvement of testing processes, documentation, and quality standards.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and collaborate effectively across cross-functional delivery teams.

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in manual testing, quality assurance, or software testing.
• Understanding of software testing methodologies and SDLC/STLC.
• Hands-on experience developing and executing test cases, test scenarios, and test plans.
• Experience performing functional, regression, integration, system, and UAT.
• Experience using defect and issue tracking tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within Agile/Scrum environments.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting federal government programs or regulated environments.
• Familiarity with Jira and Confluence.
• Basic understanding of APIs, web services, databases, and backend systems.
• Exposure to test automation concepts, frameworks, or tools.
• Experience with usability and accessibility testing, including Section 508 or WCAG standards.

Compensation
Salary Range: $52,000.00 - $58,000.00
