In this role, you'll take ownership of critical network environments-keeping them secure, available, and performing reliably around the clock. You'll work hands-on with routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN technologies, monitoring platforms, and other infrastructure while helping troubleshoot complex network challenges.
This is an onsite position in Annapolis Junction, Maryland, supporting systems that require 24x7x365 availability.

What You'll Do
- Configure, administer, and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and VPN concentrators.
- Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement improvements that support throughput, reliability, and availability.
- Diagnose and resolve complex network issues using firewall logs, switch packet-capture tools, and other troubleshooting resources.
- Partner with cross-functional technical teams when issues require broader support or collaboration.
- Conduct network capacity planning and bandwidth management to prepare for growth and changing operational requirements.
- Integrate network infrastructure with cloud services, storage platforms, and other IT components.
- Manage, monitor, maintain, and secure networks and tenant network segments supporting the transport of network traffic and data.
- Organize, document, and manage the delivery of network load-balancing services.
- Document and manage Internet Protocol (IP) addresses.
- Create and maintain network diagrams, configuration documentation, standard operating procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
- Evaluate emerging networking technologies, industry developments, and best practices and recommend appropriate adoption.
- Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to junior network engineers.
What You'll Bring
- An active Secret clearance.
- U.S. citizenship. Due to contract requirements, dual citizens cannot be considered.
- 7+ years of experience as a Network Administrator or in a related field.
- 5+ years of experience with:
- Network configuration and monitoring.
- Firewall configuration, including Palo Alto, Juniper, or similar technologies.
- Network monitoring tools, including SolarWinds and NetCool.
- Ability to work onsite daily in Annapolis Junction, MD, including residing within a commutable distance to support onsite and on-call requirements.
- Willingness and ability to participate in a rotational on-call schedule and meet recall requirements for systems requiring 24x7x365 uptime.
- Ability to move throughout office and data-center environments, including frequent walking, standing, and movement between work locations.
- Ability to occasionally lift and move equipment or materials weighing up to 50 pounds and perform the essential functions of the position.
