What You Will Do :
We are currently searching for a Patient Care Coordinator to provide comprehensive administrative, operational, and patient care coordination support within the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute (NHLBI). This is a full-time, on-site opportunity in Bethesda, MD.
- Coordinate hematology consultation services through reviewing, triaging, scheduling, and tracking patient consultations, follow-up activities, and related clinical operations.
- Serve as the primary liaison among patients, caregivers, providers, laboratories, and multidisciplinary clinical teams to facilitate efficient patient care and communication.
- Manage appointment logistics, including clinic scheduling, telehealth visits, interpreter services, pre-consult testing, and electronic appointment requests.
- Obtain, organize, and coordinate external medical records, pathology materials, and specialized testing documentation to support clinical evaluations.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary patient care meetings and maintain complex clinical schedules, calendars, coverage assignments, and provider rosters.
- Provide patients with appointment instructions, registration guidance, and ongoing support to ensure a positive and efficient care experience.
- Coordinate clinical and research bone marrow procedures, specimen collection activities, laboratory testing, and pathology review processes.
- Track diagnostic procedures, laboratory results, pathology reviews, and specialized testing to ensure timely completion, follow-up, and resolution of outstanding items.
- Plan, coordinate, and support educational conferences, grand rounds, training sessions, and other program meetings, including scheduling, speaker coordination, meeting management, and documentation.
- Maintain educational resources, presentation materials, reference guides, and training documentation to support clinical and fellowship programs.
- Manage administrative operations, including office resources, supplies, equipment, property accountability, laboratory accounts, facility support, and service requests.
- Coordinate onboarding, credentialing, orientation, access requests, and operational readiness activities for fellows, trainees, staff, and other personnel.
- Develop, maintain, and update standard operating procedures, workflow documentation, operational resources, databases, and program records.
- Collect, analyze, and report operational data and performance metrics; support dashboard development, quality improvement initiatives, workflow optimization, and process improvement efforts.
- Maintain SharePoint sites, Microsoft Teams channels, shared mailboxes, calendars, and other information systems while ensuring compliance with NIH, HIPAA, and regulatory requirements and supporting technology implementation and troubleshooting activities.
What You Will Need :
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, health sciences, nursing, biology, or a related field.
- Minimum four (4) years of experience in areas such patient care coordination, clinical operations, or healthcare administration.
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary clinical services and working with providers, laboratories, and ancillary services.
- Working knowledge of medical terminology.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365.
- Experience with electronic medical records.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Federal or DoD "public trust"; candidates must receive approved adjudication prior to onboarding with Guidehouse. Candidates with an active public trust or suitability are preferred.

What Would Be Nice To Have :
- Strong organizational, communication, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise independent judgment, and support quality improvement and operational initiatives.
- Knowledge of hematology and/or oncology medical terminology is preferred.
