Responsibilities include:
• Lead a highly talented engineering group involved in software and hardware integration; automated & manual testing; system verification & validation; system delivery, installation & checkout.
• Work in a multi-discipline engineering environment to develop and deliver systems hosted on submarines and undersea surveillance platforms, as well as related training systems.
• Provide technical oversight, coaching, and guidance to team members to drive project performance across multiple environments: agile development & production, and DevSecOps.
• Resolve technical and process issues within and across domains.
• Responsible for employee career development & performance; project staffing & planning; recruiting & hiring; project performance & productivity metrics tracking.

Standard Job Description: Manages software development activities. Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. Oversees the design, development, documentation, and testing of software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment. Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle. Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software. Ensures software standards are met.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in a related discipline and 9+ years of relevant experience.
- Software development, Systems Engineering, and Integration and Test experience for large-scale systems.
- Prior management experience and/or team leadership.
- Experience in coaching, mentoring, and career development.
- Experience in agile methods/tools.
- Planning, scheduling, and estimation skills.
- Qualified candidate must be able to obtain a DoD Interim Secret Security Clearance prior to starting this position. This requires US Citizenship.
Desired Skills
- Familiarity with undersea/submarine systems & software.
- Experience with infrastructure software, such as System Services, System Management, Network software, cloud or cluster computing.
- Familiarity with model-based engineering.
- Familiarity with Automation methods/tools/metrics for software build, deployment, integration and test.
- Experience managing project cost, schedule, technical and resources (such as staffing, material, capital, procurement).
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills
