Job Description
The RF and Integrated Photonics Group (Group 85) is committed to advancing technologies in the national interest by harnessing novel RF and photonic capabilities. The group's work encompasses everything from foundational research into materials and components to the development of complete RF and photonics systems. Key application areas include classical and quantum sensing and computing systems, as well as laser, radar, communications, and electronic warfare technologies. Within the group, the integrated photonics area focuses on developing photonic integrated circuits (PICs) and active photonic devices for classical and quantum applications including: microwave photonics; ion trap quantum computing; quantum sensing and communication; advanced laser, modulator, photodetector and other device development; and non-linear photonic applications. These efforts are supported by state-of-the-art on-site fabrication tools, close partnerships with universities and industry, extensive test and measurement infrastructure, and daily collaboration with the broad array of engineers and scientists within Lincoln Laboratory. Together, the group drives innovative research to address critical challenges and advance national capabilities.
Job Description
The Assistant Group Business Manager will be a key member of the business team for financial and operational management of the Integrated RF & Photonics Group.
The candidate will serve as the Assistant Group Business Manager performing business management activities related to the financial aspects of a very active group. Responsibilities include but are not limited to developing, analyzing, monitoring, and reporting the financial status of multiple programs, as well as preparing program specific budgets, spend plans, and custom sponsor reports. Required to use SAP and other tools to track costs and analyze trends while working closely with the Group Business Managers. Will monitor handshake agreements with other Groups and Divisions and special bill programs per Sponsor requirements. Will close Programs as necessary and monitor the Group travel to ensure proper charging to Programs. Will manage the labor distribution process. Will carry out special projects as required.
Requirements
- Associate degree in business or related field, (bachelor's degree preferred) and 1+ years of financial and/or applicable experience required.
- Candidate should have demonstrated organizational skills, experience in handling confidential and/or propriety Information in an appropriate manner, and the ability to work in a deadline sensitive environment.
- Experience with computer based financial management tools and Microsoft Office is required as is proficiency in advanced Excel functions.
- Effective oral and written communication skills are required.
- Familiarity with SAP is desired.
Hiring Range: $73,200 -$96,000
