Job Description
Systems Engineers support the development, integration, modernization, and sustainment of complex mission systems across the Intelligence Community and Department of Defense.
Depending on level and assignment, responsibilities may include:
-Perform systems engineering activities throughout the system development lifecycle.
-Analyze, develop, document, and manage system and mission requirements.
-Translate stakeholder and operational needs into technical, functional, and derived requirements.
-Develop Concepts of Operations (CONOPS), operational scenarios, and mission threads.
-Support system architecture, design, development, integration, deployment, and sustainment.
-Develop and maintain requirements traceability and supporting engineering documentation.
-Define and analyze system interfaces, data flows, dependencies, and interoperability requirements.
-Coordinate integration activities across systems, organizations, engineering teams, and Government stakeholders.
-Conduct trade studies, alternatives analyses, and technical assessments.
-Support architecture development using DoDAF and related frameworks.
-Develop operational, system, capability, service, and technical architecture views.
-Support configuration management and technical baseline activities.
-Participate in requirements reviews, design reviews, Configuration Control Boards (CCBs), Engineering Review Boards (ERBs), and Integrated Product Teams (IPTs).
-Develop verification and validation strategies, test plans, procedures, and acceptance criteria.
-Support system integration, testing, evaluation, transition, and operational readiness.
-Identify technical risks, issues, dependencies, and mitigation strategies.
-Prepare technical reports, briefings, engineering documentation, and recommendations.
-Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentoring when required by the assigned level.
