AWS Security is looking for a driven professional to join its US ADC Security Engineering team to support the development of tools and automation for Amazon Dedicated Clouds (ADCs) and Cleared Programs. As a Software Development Engineer (SDE), you'll own the development, operations, and overall health and security of the critical services we support, providing excellent customer service to our partners in a classified environment. In this role you will: - Own integrations with enterprise and commodity hardware through proprietary and open source protocols - Build extensible management tooling that delights customers - Produce infrastructure as code and robust operational monitoring that scales with our growing infrastructure - Keep the deployment process performant, automated, and well tested so development stays fast - This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen and currently possess and maintain an active Top Secret security clearance. Key job responsibilities - Design and develop high-availability distributed software with an emphasis on security, scalability, and fault tolerance - Build and integrate custom APIs and middleware for security system integration - Develop automation frameworks for infrastructure as code (IaC) deployment and configuration management - Build monitoring and alerting systems to track the health and security of our services - Implement secure communication and authentication between distributed systems - Contribute to technical design reviews and security architecture discussions - Write high-quality, maintainable code and perform peer code reviews - Partner with internal customers to understand operational challenges and deliver solutions A day in the life You'll spend your day building and operating the tools and automation that support ADC Security Engineering. Expect hands-on coding, peer code reviews, and diving into distributed systems to improve security, scalability, and reliability. You'll develop infrastructure as code, build monitoring and alerting to keep our services healthy, and automate routine operational work so the team stays fast and agile. You'll also partner directly with internal customers to understand their operational challenges and deliver practical solutions in a classified environment. Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience - 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience - Bachelor's degree, or CSSLP (Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional) - Experience programming with at least one software programming language, or experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design - A US Citizen with an active Top Secret security clearance.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
