Job Overview:
The HRAC Mechanic supports the CCoE Maintenance Support contract by troubleshooting, installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC/R systems, refrigeration systems, heating and cooling equipment, and purpose-built environmental control units. The position performs preventive maintenance and repairs in accordance with applicable technical manuals, work orders, safety requirements, EPA regulations, and contract requirements.
Support Hours: Applicant shall be available during core work hours as established the Government customer.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoots a variety of HVAC/R systems, to include automotive, residential-style, commercial, industrial, air conditioning, refrigeration systems, and supporting equipment with complex problems and extensive repairs requiring sound judgment to locate malfunctions.
- Installs, modifies, overhauls, repairs, and maintains a variety of cooling and heating systems and single or multiple fuel equipment.
- Installs, repairs, and maintains purpose-built environmental control units designed to maintain cooling, heating, humidification/dehumidification, and air quality.
- Reads and interprets electrical/electronic wiring diagrams, schematics, technical orders, blueprints, drawings, electrical/plumbing codes, and work orders.
- Performs essential and incidental electrical work related to the maintenance and operation of HVAC/R and Direct Digital Control (DDC) systems.
- Performs preventive maintenance on HVAC/R systems and electronic control systems, to include disassembly, cleaning, reassembly, and assistance with calibration.
- Charges, recovers, and recycles refrigerants in accordance with EPA regulations without exception.
- Uses hand tools, power tools, gauges, meters, leak detection equipment, and other specialized tools required to inspect, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC/R systems.
- Documents work performed, parts used, maintenance status, and follow-up requirements in accordance with contract, company, and customer processes.
- Conforms to all safe work practices and procedures and maintains a safe and clean work environment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
