Job Description

As a Security Officer Full Time Key Control in Norfolk, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Aero/Defense, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Access Control Officer supporting a dynamic aerospace and defense location. You will monitor entry points, verify access credentials, maintain accurate visitor and access records, and remain visible to help deter security-related incidents. Build positive relationships through exceptional customer service and clear communication while working with a reliable, innovative team that puts people first and acts with integrity.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors at an aerospace and defense location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, access-control requirements, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials, visitor authorizations, and contractor entry documentation in accordance with site-specific procedures.
• Maintain accurate access-control logs and communicate access-related concerns, unusual activity, and policy violations to appropriate site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established escalation and reporting procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, access points, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized access.

Minimum Requirements:

• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
