Job Description
CyKor is seeking an experienced Network Administrator Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide senior-level network administration, configuration, troubleshooting, implementation, and operational support for secure federal network environments.
The position will work closely with the Network Architect/Cisco ISE SME, Network Administrator Journeymen, cybersecurity personnel, project leadership, and federal stakeholders to successfully design, configure, test, document, deploy, and transition the networking pilot capability into an operational environment.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Network Administration & Engineering
Provide senior-level administration and technical support for secure federal network infrastructure.
Configure, maintain, troubleshoot, and validate Cisco routers, switches, and associated network services.
Support implementation and integration of network segmentation and access-control capabilities.
Support Cisco ISE integration, authentication, authorization, and network access-control requirements.
Configure and troubleshoot VLANs, routing, switching, ACLs, trunking, and related network services.
Assist with IP addressing, subnetting, routing protocols, and network configuration management.
Analyze network performance and connectivity issues and provide technical recommendations and corrective actions.
Support Tier 3 troubleshooting and resolution of complex network issues.
SIPRNet Pilot Implementation
Support engineering, configuration, testing, and deployment activities.
Translate architecture and engineering requirements into executable network configurations.
Support lab testing, pilot validation, site readiness, installation, and operational acceptance activities.
Coordinate with onsite Network Administrator Journeymen during installation and implementation activities.
Assist with development of standardized configurations and repeatable deployment procedures.
Identify technical risks, dependencies, and configuration issues that could impact pilot execution.
Security & Compliance
Configure network infrastructure in accordance with applicable DoD cybersecurity requirements.
Support implementation and validation of DISA STIG requirements.
Assist cybersecurity personnel with vulnerability remediation and configuration compliance.
Support secure configuration management and change-control processes.
Maintain network configurations and technical artifacts necessary to support authorization and operational readiness activities.
Documentation & Knowledge Transfer
Develop and maintain network diagrams, configuration documentation, implementation procedures, troubleshooting guides, and as-built documentation.
Document configuration changes, technical issues, resolutions, and lessons learned.
Provide technical input to SOPs, deployment guides, and operational support documentation.
Conduct knowledge transfer and provide technical guidance to Network Administrator Journeymen and federal personnel.
REQUIREMENTS:
7+ years of progressively responsible network administration or network engineering experience.
Demonstrated experience administering enterprise Cisco network environments.
Strong hands-on experience with Cisco routers and switches.
Advanced understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching, ACLs, subnetting, DNS, DHCP, and enterprise network services.
Experience troubleshooting complex network connectivity and configuration issues.
Experience supporting secure DoD, DHS, federal government, or similarly regulated network environments.
Experience implementing and maintaining DISA STIG-compliant network configurations.
Ability to interpret network architectures and translate engineering designs into operational configurations.
Strong technical documentation and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively with architects, engineers, cybersecurity personnel, project managers, government stakeholders, and onsite implementation teams.
An active Secret clearance or higher
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous federal network engineering/administration experience.
Classified network support experience.
Experience with Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE).
Experience with 802.1X, AAA, RADIUS/TACACS+, network access control, and policy-based network segmentation.
Experience supporting Zero Trust or Comply-to-Connect (C2C) initiatives.
Experience with Cisco Catalyst platforms and Cisco IOS/IOS-XE.
Experience supporting network pilots, technology refreshes, or enterprise-scale deployments.
Familiarity with DoDIN networking standards and cybersecurity requirements.
CERTIFICATIONS:
Required/Strongly Preferred
DoD 8140/8570-compliant certification appropriate to assigned duties.
Cisco CCNA or equivalent demonstrated experience.
Preferred
Cisco CCNP Enterprise
Cisco ISE-related training/certification
Security+
Additional Cisco networking or cybersecurity certifications

Hybrid work schedule with some on-site duties at client sites in Alexandria, VA and/or Kearneysville, WV
