Job Description
LightGrid is Hiring a Data Network Support - Network Operations Center (NOC) Technician. Please note: This position requires 12 hour Shifts and some weekends and Holidays.
The NOC Technician is responsible for the proactive management, monitoring, and operational control of DeCA’s enterprise data and cloud network infrastructure. Duties include:
Monitoring network health and statistics using DeCA-provided monitoring tools (IBM Tivoli and SolarWinds), logging and tracking all incidents through Remedy, and ensuring prompt response and resolution to incidents or out-of-range conditions (e.g., equipment failures, outages, anomalies)
Executing incident validation, escalation, service restoration, and coordinating with vendors or host facilities for field service dispatch as required
Following DeCA’s SOPs and TTPs for escalation/notification and providing user status updates
Providing monthly/quarterly statistical reports covering availability, capacity, bandwidth, asset inventory, and utilization
Conducting root cause and trend analysis to preempt and resolve chronic network issues.
Supporting architecture, design, and integration for the global network/cloud/NOC, including documentation, network drawings, and participation in audits and inspections (PCI, FISMA, CSSP, CORA)
Degree Required: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
Certificate/License Required:Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) is required, with compliance to DoD 8140 Advanced Network Operations Specialist (441) requirements. Certification must be held at hire and maintained during employment
Experience Required: Minimum 1 year experience in a NOC or equivalent network operations role, supporting large-scale/enterprise environments Experience managing and troubleshooting enterprise routers, switches, firewalls, wireless devices, and cloud network solutions
Familiarity with network management products (IBM Tivoli/SolarWinds or equivalents)
Experience with network architecture, configuration management, and operational documentation
Command of fundamental and advanced networking concepts (routing protocols, VLANs, VPNs, SD-WAN, 802.11x/WLAN, asset management)
Incident response and escalation with hands-on Remedy (or comparable ticketing systems)
