NSX Engineer (VMware NSX Architect)
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled NSX Engineer to support the design, implementation, automation, and management of complex VMware NSX environments within enterprise and cloud-based infrastructures. This role is ideal for an experienced virtualization and networking professional who enjoys solving complex infrastructure challenges and helping organizations modernize their cloud networking capabilities.
The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in VMware NSX-T, cloud networking, multi-tenancy, automation, and advanced network architecture. This position offers a flexible remote work arrangement with significant travel to customer sites across the United States.
Location & Travel
• Remote within the United States
• Approximately 60% travel / 40% remote
• Primary travel locations include customer sites in Alabama and Oklahoma
What You'll Do
• Design and architect complex VMware NSX-T environments, including multi-site and federated deployments.
• Implement, integrate, manage, and automate NSX solutions across enterprise and cloud environments.
• Support cloud and multi-tenant infrastructure initiatives.
• Configure and maintain advanced NSX networking and security services.
• Develop automation solutions to streamline deployment, operations, and management processes.
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, networking, and virtualization issues.
• Implement micro-segmentation and software-defined security controls.
• Integrate NSX with VMware ecosystem tools and third-party platforms.
• Support advanced load balancing, VPN, routing, and firewall services.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, security, and operations teams to deliver scalable solutions.
• Participate in architecture reviews, design discussions, and technical planning sessions.
Required Qualifications
• Active Secret Clearance or higher.
• Advanced VMware NSX experience (senior-level expertise).
• Strong experience with NSX-T Data Center Architecture.
• Experience supporting cloud environments and multi-tenancy architectures.
• Proven experience designing and implementing complex NSX deployments.
• Experience integrating NSX with VMware products and third-party solutions.
• Strong automation skills using infrastructure automation tools and scripting.
• Expertise in:
