Program Description:
The program provides Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) core and non-core support in the areas of Cyber Security and Management to improve the Information Assurance (IA) posture of a National customer. The contracts Core Capabilities are: IA Management, Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) coordination and reporting, Risk Management Framework (RMF) application, IA compliance measurements and metrics, Assessment and Authorization (A&A), Vulnerability Management, and Cyber Defense support.

This is the projected compensation range for this position. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories. Position Description:
The Cyber Systems Engineer Senior Technical Specialist provides support to the customer in the area of Cyber Security.
Daily tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Monitor, analyze, and detect Cyber events and incidents within information systems and networks under general supervision.
- Assist with integrated, dynamic Cyberdefense, coordinate and maintain security toolsets to support organizations' continuous monitoring and ongoing authorization programs, establish a framework by which cyber risk can be measured and quantified in the marketplace.
- Determines security requirements by evaluating business strategies and requirements; researching information security standards; conducting system security and vulnerability analyses and risk assessments; studying architecture/platform; identifying integration issues; preparing cost estimates.
- Implements security systems by specifying intrusion detection methodologies and equipment; directing equipment and software installation and calibration; preparing preventive and reactive measures; creating, transmitting, and maintaining keys; providing technical support; completing documentation.
- Verifies security systems by developing and implementing test scripts. Maintains security by monitoring and ensuring compliance to standards, policies, and procedures; conducting incident response analyses; developing and conducting training programs.
- Responsible for the design, development, implementation, and integration of DoD IA architectures, systems, or system components for use within computing, network, and enclave environments.
- Ensure that the architecture and design of development and operational systems are functional and secure.
- This includes designs for program of record systems and special purpose processing nodes with platform IT interconnectivity.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- BS with 12-15 years of experience, MS with 10-13 years of experience, PhD with 10+ years of experience
- Must possess and be able to maintain a TS/SCI with Poly
- Able to support customer's core hours (0900-1500; Mon - Fri)
- A Cyber Certification (DoD 8570/8140)
- Work collaboratively with Risk Management stakeholders in the advancement and implementation of process improvements and modernization efforts to automate and/or improve Risk Management decision timelines
- Provide senior-level support to the senior government leadership in collaboration with other SETAs and stakeholders
- Assist in the development of project reviews and portfolio roadmaps; inform government leads on status and progress of all projects
- Produce high-quality papers, presentations, recommendations, and findings for senior US government intelligence and operations officials appropriate to the level of the intended audience
- Assist in the development of technical requirements
- Analyze policies and procedures against Federal laws and regulations and provides recommendations for closing gaps
- Develop strategies to comply with privacy and risk management requirements
Desired Qualifications:
- Systems Engineering (configuration management, requirements management/writing, architecture, interfaces)
- Ability to organize and prioritize numerous customer requests in a fast-paced deadline driven environment
- Knowledgeability of customer's tools and infrastructure
- Familiarity with customer's IA processes
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
- Self-starter requiring limited direction and supervision
- Experience briefing senior customer personnel
- Ability to organize and prioritize numerous customer requests in a fast pace deadline driven environment
- Familiarity with Enterprise Cross Domain Solutions (ECDS)
- Experience supporting IC or DoD in the Cyber Security Domain
