We are seeking a skilled Electronics Circuit Board Technician to operate, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair automated pick-and-place PCB assembly equipment and support printed circuit board (PCB) population and assembly processes. The technician will ensure production quality, machine uptime, and efficient electronic assembly operations in a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct security research on VSAT hardware, ground stations, teleport architectures, and satellite modems
- Deep understanding of RF waveforms, processing pipelines, and SATCOM infrastructure and protocols (DVB-S2, DVB-RCS2, TDMA schemes…)
- Develop tools using Software Defined Radios (SDR) to test RF level attacks and countermeasures
- Research network and protocol vulnerabilities related to IP routing over satellite, network data streams, and side channel and metadata analysis
- Red teaming of modem firmware and embedded Linux systems to identify vulnerabilities
- Design, test, evaluate radio / RF communications systems
- Willingness to travel up to 10% to support customer projects
- Provide expertise and guidance across diverse engineering disciplines including RF and satellite communications, network design, and hardware and embedded systems
- Collaborate on development and management of technology roadmap and product portfolio
- Document, test and communicate technical research results effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Qualifications
- Background or education in computer, communications, and network security, ideally with a BS or MS degree in a relevant engineering discipline
- Experience as a security researcher with demonstrated background in reverse engineering of hardware, decompiling/disassembly of embedded code, and protocol analysis
- Must have significant direct experience with systems supporting RF wireless protocols including VSAT or other satellite communications
- Familiarity and comfort with RF componentry including specifying, evaluating, testing, and troubleshooting
- Advanced proficiency with Software Defined Radios (ex. USRP) and signal processing frameworks like GNU Radio and MATLAB to demodulate, decode, and manipulate arbitrary RF signals
- Familiarity with scripting, programming and automation languages (Python, BASH, C/C++, Rust)
- Deep familiarity working with Linux based systems and advanced computer networking
- Strong customer relationship and communication skills
- Experience supporting customers and operations in remote field locations
