Job Description
Parker Tide is a small business in DC. We serve as a value-added partner to the government. We are seeking a Patent Application Specialists (Reviewers) to work with one of our clients.
Title: Patent Application Specialist (Reviewer).
Period of Performance: One Year and Two Option Years.
Investigation/Clearance Level: Public Trust.
Experience: 1-2 Years of Related Experience.
Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Salary: $17.90 per hour plus applicable hourly health and welfare benefit – 401K investment.
Description
• Detail-oriented applicants support patent application processing by reviewing formatting, processing, and converting patent application publication data.
• Review data during conversion and composition to ensure compliance with quality and rules.
• Process, analyze, verify, and validate all application data is complete and accurate, identify corrective actions to complete missing application data, and ensure successful completion of the application tracking receipt of deliverables and performing quality reviews.
• Compare data and images to source documents.
• Edit documents based on comparison with source and the business / technical requirements.
• Deliver updated and final files for publication with quality review.
• Review and understand tasks needed for all work products and process the actions accordingly.
• Review, edit, correct, supplement partially/fully transformed publication data and documents.
• Compare and edit captured bibliographic data.
• Compare and edit text content extracted from source documents to ensure accuracy with content and presentation according to the technical and business rules.
• Select and edit drawings and representative figures according to the business rules.
• Identify complex work units that have not been extracted properly and require referral (tables, mathematical formulas, and chemical structures).
• Evaluate resulting publication document rendering, edit text structure (addition and removal of paragraphs and titles, adjustments to claim indentation).
• Report onsite at government facilities as needed for training, meetings, etc.
• Other duties as assigned/required.
Requirements
• U.S. citizenship.
• Ability to communicate both in writing and orally in English.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Strong computer skills: proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or similar applications/tools.
• Work is performed in an office setting. The role requires periods of standing, walking, and sitting, as well as the ability to communicate in person and by telephone. Regular use of a computer is required throughout the workday.
