Job Description

Koniag Professional Services LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a HRIT Specialist to support KPS and our government customer in Washington, DC. The position is remote. This position requires the candidate to be able to obtain a Public Trust.

Koniag Professional Services is seeking an experienced HRIT Specialist to support our client, the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO), in developing a secure, scalable, and integrated Human Capital Management (HCM) solution that consolidates core HR functions into a unified enterprise platform as part of OPM's HR 2.0 initiative.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for:
  • Providing Oracle database administration support, including SQL/PLSQL development, schema objects, stored procedures, deployment packages, performance tuning, database health checks, backups/recovery, environment refreshes, migrations, Data Pump, SQL Loader, and troubleshooting.
  • Providing SAP HANA administration support, including tenant databases, schemas, tables, procedures, calculation views, SQLScript performance tuning, delta merges, partitioning, backups/restores, system replication, and troubleshooting of memory and database service issues.
  • Supporting SAP data integration and provisioning using SDA, SDI, and SLT, including flowgraphs, staging layers, data loads, and troubleshooting of data integration issues.
  • Supporting payroll modernization initiatives using .NET and PostgreSQL, including application enhancements, database updates, SDA updates, production deployments, incident resolution, and ongoing application support.
  • Providing production support for enterprise applications and databases, including issue investigation, root-cause analysis, performance optimization, deployment support, and coordination with application and infrastructure teams.
  • Developing and maintaining SOPs, user guides, process documentation, technical documentation, and knowledge repositories to support operational consistency, knowledge transfer, and application/database support.


This position may require occasional travel to client sites in Washington, DC and Atlanta, Georgia, as well as to the company office in Chantilly, Virginia, based on business needs.

Travel to a federal badging office will be required one or more times during onboarding and/or throughout employment to complete credentialing requirements.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field from an accredited college or university
  • 8+ years of Oracle Database Administration and support, including SQL/PL/SQL development, schema management, stored procedures, deployment packaging, and environment management
  • 10+ years of MS SQL Server administration and support
  • 7+ years of database performance tuning and troubleshooting across enterprise database platforms
  • 5+ years of experience with database backup, recovery, and migration strategies and execution
  • 5+ years of SAP HANA administration, including tenant databases, schemas, tables, procedures, and calculation views
  • 5+ years of SAP HANA SQL Script development and performance optimization, including delta merges and partitioning strategies
  • 4+ years of SAP HANA backup, restore, and system replication administration
  • 3+ years of experience with SAP data integration and provisioning tools, including SDA, SDI, and SLT, including flowgraphs, staging layers, and data load troubleshooting
  • 10+ years of .NET/C#/ASP.NET application development and support experience
  • 5+ years of PostgreSQL database development and administration
  • 8+ years of enterprise application production support experience
  • 5+ years of Data integration and migration experience
  • 8+ years of experience following Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies
  • 8+ years of experience developing and maintaining technical documentation, SOPs, user guides, and knowledge repositories
  • 8+ years of IT project and application support experience
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical IT stakeholders
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment under the direction of a technical lead


Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience with payroll systems and payroll modernization
  • Experience supporting large-scale enterprise or government applications
  • Experience with Azure cloud services and Microsoft Entra ID
  • Experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices
  • Experience with SAP HANA XS/HDI or related HANA development technologies
  • Experience with ETL/data integration and enterprise data platforms
  • Experience with application modernization and legacy system migration
  • Experience with REST APIs and enterprise system integration
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
  • Experience with production incident management, root-cause analysis, and problem management
  • Experience developing and maintaining enterprise knowledge repositories and operational documentation
