Site Lead - MPO

Locations: Ali Al Salem Air Base (ASAB), Kuwait; Al Dhafra Air Base (ADAB), United Arab Emirates; Muwaffaq Salti Air Base (MSAB), Jordan; optional placement at Al Udeid Air Base (AUAB), Qatar

The Military Post Office Site Lead manages daily MPO operations at an assigned overseas installation. This role leads contract personnel, ensures secure and reliable mail services, maintains compliance with military postal requirements, and serves as the on-site point of contact for Government and installation stakeholders. The Site Lead drives operational discipline, customer service, accountability, and mission readiness across all assigned postal functions.

As required by our governmental client, this position requires an active SECRET clearance to be considered .

A government contract requires that this position be restricted to U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents. You must provide documentation that you are a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident to qualify.

Site Lead Responsibilities Include:
  • Lead daily Military Post Office operations and ensure uninterrupted postal support for authorized customers.
  • Supervise, schedule, train, and evaluate MPO personnel to meet contract staffing, quality, and service requirements.
  • Oversee mail receipt, processing, sorting, dispatch, delivery, parcel operations, accountable mail, registered mail, directory mail, and customer-service activities, as applicable.
  • Ensure operations comply with contract requirements and applicable U.S. Postal Service, Military Postal Service Agency (MPSA), Department of Defense, U.S. Air Force, and installation policies and procedures.
  • Serve as the primary on-site liaison with Government representatives, military postal leadership, installation stakeholders, and the Program Manager.
  • Maintain mail security, chain of custody, postal accountability, records, and protection of sensitive information.
  • Conduct routine quality-control checks, reconcile discrepancies, document findings, and implement corrective actions.
  • Monitor operational performance, staffing coverage, customer-service trends, and mission risks; promptly elevate significant issues to the Program Manager.
  • Prepare and submit required reports, staffing updates, incident reports, operational metrics, and other contract deliverables.
  • Manage site-level supplies, equipment, facilities coordination, and inventory needed to sustain MPO operations.
  • Ensure personnel comply with security, safety, customs, force-protection, and installation access requirements.
  • Support transition, mobilization, contingency operations, and changing mission requirements as directed.
  • Foster a professional, accountable, customer-focused work environment.


Site Lead Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:

Required Qualifications
  • Active Secret security clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, or a closely related discipline and a minimum of three (3) years of experience in both supervisory positions and postal service operations; or
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in both supervisory positions and military postal service operations. Experience supporting U.S. Air Force postal operations is preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership, supervisory, and team-management capability.
  • Strong knowledge of postal operations, including mail processing, mail security, accountability, customer service, and records management.
  • Ability to work independently in an overseas contingency or austere environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prepare reports, manage schedules, maintain records, and use Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to meet installation-specific deployment, medical, training, and access requirements.
  • Mut pass pre-employment requirements of Cherokee Federal.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting Military Post Offices, Army Post Offices, Fleet Post Offices, or other Department of Defense postal operations.
  • Prior experience supporting U.S. Air Force postal operations or deployed/overseas military installations.
  • Knowledge of MPSA, U.S. Postal Service, Department of Defense, and U.S. Air Force postal policies and procedures.
  • Experience supervising contract personnel under a federal government services contract.
  • Experience operating in Southwest Asia, the Middle East, or other overseas contingency environments.
  • Associate degree or higher in business, management, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
