The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Unified Communications (UC) and Voice over IP (VoIP) technologies, with a strong focus on Microsoft Teams and Skype for Business environments.

Overview:
Abacus Technology is seeking a Senior UC Voice Engineer to join our team in support of a major defense contract. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Unified Communications (UC) and Voice over IP (VoIP) technologies, with a strong focus on Microsoft Teams and Skype for Business environments.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain UC Voice solutions for enterprise customers
- Configure and manage Microsoft Teams Voice, Skype for Business Server, and related components
- Troubleshoot complex UC Voice issues and provide technical support
- Develop and maintain documentation for UC Voice solutions
- Collaborate with network, security, and application teams to ensure seamless integration
- Participate in project planning, execution, and delivery
- Stay current with emerging UC Voice technologies and best practices
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in UC Voice technologies
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Teams Voice and Skype for Business
- Strong understanding of VoIP protocols (SIP, RTP, RTCP)
- Experience with PBX systems and trunking solutions
- Knowledge of network requirements for UC Voice deployments
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and documentation abilities
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Certifications: MCSE, MCTS, or similar
- Experience with cloud-based UC solutions (e.g., Microsoft 365)
- Knowledge of security considerations for UC Voice deployments
- Experience with scripting languages (PowerShell, Python)
