Overview:
Abacus Technology is seeking a Network Administrator II (WAN) to join our team. This position will provide technical support and management for wide area network (WAN) infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and manage WAN connections, including leased lines, MPLS, and internet connectivity.
- Troubleshoot network issues and implement solutions to maintain uptime and performance.
- Configure and maintain network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure network requirements are met and projects are successfully completed.
- Implement and manage network security measures to protect against threats.
- Document network configurations, procedures, and changes.
- Provide technical support and guidance to end users and other IT staff.
- Stay current with industry trends and technologies to ensure the network remains state-of-the-art.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in network administration, with a focus on WAN technologies.
- Experience with network devices such as Cisco, Juniper, or similar vendors.
- Knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, etc.) and security best practices.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent are a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with cloud-based networking solutions.
- Knowledge of network monitoring tools and practices.
- Experience with network design and implementation.
