THE WORK
The Lockheed Martin Next Generation Interceptor (NGI) team is seeking experienced level 2 Systems Engineer with an active Secret clearance to work from either our Boulder, CO or Longmont, CO location.
The Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) Infrastructure Team is seeking a DevOps Engineer to design, build, and operate the ground-station platform that supports both SBIRS and the Next-Gen GEO OPIR ground stations. You will work hand-in-hand with infrastructure engineers and mission specialists to automate provisioning, configuration, and continuous-delivery pipelines for ultra-reliable, secure, and scalable ground-systems.

- Performs tech planning, design, devel, integ, v&v for total syst life cycle.
Analyses performed at all levels of syst product incl. concept, design, fabrication, test, instl, operation, maintenance & disposal, incorp design methods & stds for Cyber Security, SW & HW infrastructure. - Designs, devels, docs, tests & debugs SW that contains logical & math solutions to business/mission problems/questions in computer language.
- Ensures the logical & syst conversion of customer/product reqs into total syst solutions that ack tech, sched, cost constraints & align to SW & HW deployment pipelines & factories.
- Performs func & timeline analysis, detail trade & reqs allocation & interface defs studies to translate customer reqs into HW & SW feature defs & acceptance criteria.
- Applies stds, processes, procedures & tools throughout the devel life cycle.
- Applies HW & SW knowledge, cyber security stds in business/mission apps, & feedback from users to develop SW.
- Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles doc of program devel & analyzes syst capabilities to resolve program problems, output/input data acq, programming tech & controls.
- Ensures SW stds are met. Validates incorp of features & use cases into implemented designs

Basic Qualifications
- Proficiency with Git and Git based development workflows.
- Knowledge of with Ansible and/or Terraform, or familiarity with other IaC toolsets.
- Familiarity with Python, Bash, or other shell scripting languages.
- Hands on experience using, troubleshooting, and/or administering Linux operating systems
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams, effectively communicate technical concepts, generate and maintain technical documentation, foster teamwork, and drive shared solutions to meet project objectives.
- Active Sec+ or ability to obtain within 60-90 days of onboarding.
- Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance
Desired Skills
- Familiarity with containerization concepts and the use of Docker and/or Podman.
- Knowledge of container orchestration platforms - Kubernetes and/or OpenShift.
- Experience writing and maintaining Helm charts for deployment to the above platforms.
- Understanding of software classifications and controls (COTS, GOTS, FOSS, etc.) within secure operating environments.
- Experience with GitLab and Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence).
- Experience with static code analysis tools (Fortify, SonarQube, Coverity, etc.).
- Familiarity with vSphere or AWS for on prem or cloud virtualization.
- Basic understanding of networking diagnostics and concepts.
- Prior DevOps or automation focused software development background.
- Understanding of CI/CD concepts and the orchestration of pipelines using GitLab or Jenkins.
- Active TS/SCI clearance.
- Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice
