Windows Systems Administrator
Location: Arlington, VA
Schedule: 100% On-Site | Monday-Friday | 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM (2nd Shift)
Clearance Required: Active TS/SCI
Overview
We are seeking a Windows Systems Administrator to support a highly secure enterprise environment responsible for delivering critical infrastructure, system administration, and cloud-based services. This role is ideal for a systems administrator with strong Windows Server experience who enjoys working in a mission-focused environment and supporting enterprise-level operations.
The selected candidate will be responsible for maintaining Windows server environments, managing Active Directory, implementing security best practices, supporting virtualization technologies, and ensuring the reliability and performance of enterprise systems.
Key Responsibilities
Create, maintain, and implement detailed system administration documentation and standard operating procedures.
Develop, implement, and monitor policies and standards related to enterprise computing resources.
Evaluate hardware and software solutions and provide recommendations for implementation.
Support and maintain Windows server environments and enterprise infrastructure.
Review technical work performed by junior team members and provide guidance as needed.
Work independently and collaboratively with network administrators and other technical teams to ensure system availability and performance.
Manage Active Directory environments, Group Policy Objects (GPOs), and Local Security Policies.
Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot hardware and software systems.
Apply security hardening standards, including DISA STIG compliance and related best practices.
Support scheduled tasks, system automation, and scripting efforts.
Maintain a secure and stable virtualized environment.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of related experience supporting Windows server environments. Additional experience, training, or education may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Active TS/SCI security clearance.
Current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+ CE or equivalent).
Experience administering and troubleshooting Windows Server environments.
Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy Management, and Windows security controls.
Experience supporting and maintaining VMware environments.
Experience with Remote Desktop Services.
Experience with PowerShell scripting; Python experience is a plus.
Experience applying security controls and compliance frameworks, including DISA STIGs.
Experience with Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP).
Experience using Windows Task Scheduler.
Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining enterprise hardware and software.
Understanding of cloud technologies, particularly AWS, is highly desirable.
Ability to obtain a CI Polygraph if required in the future.
Preferred Qualifications
TS/SCI with CI Polygraph.
Experience integrating network management and element management systems with performance monitoring, ticketing, and security platforms.
Experience supporting Storage Area Networks (SAN), Network Attached Storage (NAS), and enterprise switching environments.
Knowledge of networking principles, including TCP/IP.
Experience with ticketing platforms such as BMC Remedy.
ITIL Foundation certification.
Experience supporting Linux and Solaris operating systems.
Strong background working within virtualized enterprise environments.
