Job Description

Duties

As a SECURITY STRATEGY ANALYST at the GS-0301-14 some of your typical work assignments may include:
  • Leads and supports interagency and international study groups (Analysis Working Group, tri-chaired by OSW(CAPE), OSW(Policy), and J8) for resolving problems in collaborative security approaches, systems and programs requiring innovative solutions.
  • Serves as the Joint Staff representative for the disposition of SAP programs and portfolios through SAP Enterprise Reform (SER).
  • Develops, adapts and coordinates new approaches supporting collaborative multi-partner,
    international, multi-portfolio collaborative TS/SCI/SAP/CAP modeling, simulation and analyses.
  • Represents the Division representative to SER actions, coordinating with stakeholders
    across the Department, and ensuring that Division equities are represented, and SER directives are implemented.
  • Develops Division's security program plans; establishes Division's policies and procedures; implements and monitors Division's physical SAP security and oversees day-to-day SAP security management for Division's multi-million-dollar complex of secure spaces.

Qualifications

You may qualify at the GS- 14, if you fulfill the following qualifications:

One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service:
  • Applies a wide range of security concepts, principles, and practices to review independently, analyze, and resolve difficult and complex security problems to include key decision-making and policy-developing responsibilities in planning, emplacing and executing a new, far-reaching security program addressing the JS J8/Warfighting and Analysis Division (WAD) Special Access Program (SAP) Environment spanning DoW Allies, Partners, and Stakeholders;
  • Utilizes proactive awareness, understanding, and interpretation of existing and new policy issuances to identify application in a variety of environments and locations;
  • Plans, recommends and general oversight of the installation of multilayered security systems, personnel access controls, physical protection devices, monitoring equipment, remote alarm equipment, and other measures affecting DoW Allies, Partners, and Stakeholders programs, projects and collaboration;
  • Utilizes work situations and various levels of security controls spanning DoW Allies, Partners, and Stakeholders and driving new security policy, planning and practice to address new and far-reaching security program requirements;
  • Applies policy and practice implementation to include inspecting operating security programs and practice to measure adequacy, efficiency, and need for improvement.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.

This position is subject to an initial drug screening, and random testing thereafter. A negative drug test result must be received by HR within 30 calendar days after the EOD (i.e., start date).
