Job Description

The Logistics Specialist provides integrated logistics, maintenance planning, technical documentation, and repair specification support to the U.S. Coast Guard SFLC Small Boat Product Line. This role supports depot-level repair planning; Time Compliant Technical Order (TCTO) development; Maintenance Procedure Card (MPC) development and maintenance; supply research; and contract and dry dock repair specification development. The Logistics Specialist works closely with Coast Guard personnel, product line branches, engineering teams, the Coast Guard Yard, and other stakeholders to deliver accurate, compliant, and mission-ready logistics products.

Logistician Specialist Responsibilities Include:
  • Analyze logistics, supply, maintenance, configuration, and project data using FLS, NESSS, Cognos, ALMIS, SFLC Projects, IDE/SharePoint, CGLIMS-STIP, and other applicable Coast Guard systems.
  • Conduct supply and parts research through FEDLOG, AMMIS, NESSS, Coast Guard and National Supply Systems, and commercial sources; recommend spare-part allowances for deployed and garrison operations.
  • Develop, revise, maintain, quality-review, and physically validate Maintenance Procedure Cards (MPCs), configurations, and related maintenance documentation using IETMs and IDE/SharePoint.
  • Develop, process, track, and support validation and deployment of Time Compliant Technical Orders (TCTOs) in coordination with Asset Line Managers and other stakeholders.
  • Review preventive and corrective maintenance practices for HM&E systems and recommend improvements that increase reliability, readiness, and lifecycle supportability.
  • Develop Illustrated Parts Breakdown inputs, including images, configuration data, and logistics information, for the SFLC Technical Library.
  • Develop and revise depot-level, contract, and dry dock repair specifications; create contract flat-file work items; and maintain IDIQ documentation based on Contract Workbook Database feedback.
  • Gather and validate technical and logistics data from Coast Guard product lines, engineering organizations, Coast Guard Yard, and other units to support Government Furnished Equipment requirements.
  • Prepare technical documentation, reports, briefings, and presentations; process customer feedback in accordance with the CG Form 22 Process Guide; and incorporate Government comments for COR review and approval.
  • Coordinate and participate in assigned technical, logistics, development, and platform team meetings.
  • Use Coast Guard-approved or compatible software and equipment to prepare all deliverables and perform other related task-order support as directed by the COR.
  • Maintain contractor status and refrain from performing inherently governmental functions or representing oneself as a Government employee.


Logistician Specialist Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:

Required Qualifications
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, engineering, business, or a related field is preferred. Relevant military, technical, maritime, logistics, maintenance, or Government contracting experience may substitute for formal education.
  • Experience supporting U.S. Coast Guard, Department of Homeland Security, Department of Defense, or comparable Federal logistics and maintenance programs is strongly preferred.
  • At least one year of experience using FLS, NESSS, and CGLIMS-STIP is preferred.
  • Experience using logistics, supply, maintenance, configuration-management, and project-management systems such as Cognos, ALMIS, SFLC Projects, IDE/SharePoint, FEDLOG, AMMIS, and IETMs is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting supply research for repair and replacement parts through Government, national, and commercial supply systems.
  • Experience developing, reviewing, modifying, or validating Maintenance Procedure Cards (MPCs) is preferred. Completion of an MPC development course is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical (HM&E) systems is required.
  • Experience developing maintenance support products for preventive, corrective, scheduled, unscheduled, and alteration maintenance activities is preferred.
  • Experience developing, processing, and tracking Time Compliant Technical Orders (TCTOs) is preferred.
  • Experience writing U.S. Coast Guard repair, contract, depot-level, and dry dock specifications is required.
  • Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) certification is preferred.
  • Must hold or obtain RCM Level II certification and Maintenance Development certification within one month of task order award.
  • Strong technical writing, editing, document-control, data-analysis, and quality-assurance skills are required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and other Coast Guard-compatible software tools is required.
  • Ability to coordinate across technical, engineering, logistics, supply, and operational stakeholders; manage multiple priorities; and deliver accurate, timely work products is required.
  • Comparable education, certifications, or relevant experience may be considered in place of stated preferred qualifications, subject to Government approval.
